Crystal Palace Travel to West Ham United Looking for Their First Win at the London Stadium

Ninth place Crystal Palace face fifth-place West Ham at the London Stadium, a ground where they are yet to win since the Hammers made the move in 2016.

Both Manuel Pellegrini and Roy Hodgson will be forced into changes as a result of their previous outings.

The home side will see a change in goal, as Roberto will replace the injured Lukasz Fabianski. The West Ham number one faces a spell of around two months on the sidelines following a torn hip muscle.

Meanwhile, for Roy Hodgson, it is in midfield where he will be forced to alter his lineup. Captain Luka Milivojevic picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the Eagles’ victory over Norwich City. As a result, he is suspended for the visit to the London Stadium.

What to Expect From the Game

While Crystal Palace often thrive away from home, their visit to an in-form West Ham side could dictate the way that they play.

The Hammers have not lost in the Premier League since the opening day of the season. They’re finding their feet and keeping a settled lineup which has only seen minor changes every so often. It is their attack which is catching the majority of the headlines. Club-record signing Sebastien Haller is certainly showing his potential, while Andriy Yarmolenko is showing what the Hammers missed out on last season.

As a result, the Saturday evening kick-off at the London Stadium could prove a game of attack against defence. Palace’s trademark style away from home is to hit sides on the counter-attack, but they also boast a sturdy defensive record too. They have conceded just seven goals so far this season, which places them level with Manchester City and only beaten by Liverpool and Leicester City.
