Claude Puel and Leicester City welcome Wolves to the King Power Stadium for the first time since February 2004. Both sides come into the game looking for their first three points of the season. Whilst Leicester City lost away against Man United, Wolves earned a late draw against Everton.
Trouble for Claude Puel?
After just missing out on European football last season, Puel is already under pressure with talk of the Leicester hierarchy looking for his replacement. The Foxes put up a decent fight against Man United but ended up losing 2-1 on the opening weekend.
Coming fresh from the World Cup, Jamie Vardy started on the bench, making an appearance after 63 minutes and grabbing Leicester’s only goal in added time. Leicester will have been a bit disappointed with the result after having 54% possession and 13 shots at goal but only registering four on target.
Puel will be hoping for a better start against Wolves. With just two minutes on the clock, Leicester midfielder Daniel Amartey gave away a penalty, resulting in Paul Pogba scoring from the spot. Jamie Vardy is expected to start in this game. His next goal at home will be his 50th goal at the King Power Stadium.
Can Wolves Take Advantage?
Nuno Espirito Santo will be looking to build on the home 2-2 draw against Everton. Nuno’s side will be looking to take more of their chances against a nervous looking Leicester defence.
With four players making their debuts for Wolves against Everton it was Raul Jimenez who managed to nick a point for Wolves with an 80th-minute headed goal. Wolves will feel they could have got more out of the game after being in control for a majority of it. Wolves had 57% of possession but only managed to get 4 of their 11 shots on target.
