Mohammad Rizwan Achieves New Record During T20Is Against South Africa

Mohammad Rizwan broke multiple records in the first two T20I's against South Africa.

Mohammad Rizwan – A star in the making

Mohammad Rizwan has been brilliant for Pakistan in all the three formats of the game and recently achieved a new record. Furthermore, his performances have not been limited to a set of conditions – he has played splendidly all over the globe.

He has now performed in Europe against England, in both Australia and New Zealand and now in Asia against South Africa.

His recent performances in first and second T20I games against South Africa, earnt him several records simultaneously. He scored a brilliant 104 off 64 deliveries in the first T20I and 51 in the second T20I. Below are the various milestones achieved by Mohammad Rizwan, thanks to his superb performances in T20I series against South Africa:

Centuries in all-formats

Mohammad Rizwan is now the second Pakistani player after Ahmed Shahzad to score a century for Pakistan in all three formats of cricket. This proves his ability as a versatile player for Pakistan. He scored a brilliant match winning 104 and helped his team to reach a score of 169 in the first game.

Highest T20I score by a keeper for Pakistan

The 104 scored by Mohammad Rizwan, is now a record T20I score by a keeper for Pakistan. Previously, this record was held by Sarfaraz Ahmed, who scored 89 against Scotland. He is now the only wicket-keeper for Pakistan to have scored a century in all three formats.

Highest number of sixes in a T20I innings for Pakistan

Mohammad Rizwan hit a record 7 sixes in his innings of 104 runs against South Africa. This is the highest number of sixes in a T20I innings by a Pakistani batsman. Previously, this record was maintained by Muhammad Hafeez and Ahmad Shahzad. Both smashed six sixes.

Second keeper in the world to score a century in all-formats

Outside Brendon McCullum, he is the only wicket-keeper in the world to score a hundred in all three formats. He is now the fifth wicket-keeper in the world to score a hundred in a T20I game.

Three consecutive 50 plus scores

In the second T20I against South Africa, Mohammad Rizwan scored 51 runs. By reaching the milestone, he became the only Pakistani batsman to have scored more than 50 runs in three consecutive T20I innings. His last three scores read 89, 104 and 51.

Since the beginning of 2020, he has now scored nine fifties for Pakistan, which also include four centuries. He is now a crucial player for the Pakistani Team.
