Big Bash League Best Bowlers
Batsmen win you matches, bowlers win your tournaments. A line believed by many experts globally. Despite the Big Bash League missing the best Australian bowlers – the likes of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood on a consistent basis, other players have performed exceptionally and hauled their sides to the title.
The BBL has provided a solid platform for the best domestic bowlers to launch their career with the Australian National Team. The likes of Daniel Sams and James Pattinson have benefited from this. Plus, such players have also been scouted by other leagues worldwide due to their performances in the BBL.
So, with all that in mind, in the BBL who are the top 5 best bowlers of all-time?
Ben Laughlin is the highest wicket-taker in the history of the Big Bash League. In just 91 games, he has taken 110 wickets at a bowling average of 23.27 and at an economy rate of 8.10.
He has represented the Adelaide Strikers, the Brisbane Heat and the Hobart Hurricanes. He won the 2017/18 Big Bash League season with the Adelaide Strikers, picking up 16 wickets in just 12 games.
