Muhammad Hafeez – Love affair with T20Is in 2020
Muhammad Hafeez, also known as the professor, has somewhat found his prime form in T20Is, in 2020. Aged 40 years, he has silenced his critics not only vocally but also with his bat. At such an age, it is arguably the last part of his career.
Although known for his all-round abilities, he has dominated this year in T20I cricket format with his bat. He surely is the champion in T20I format for the year 2020.
Highest run-scorer – Tops the list
Muhammad Hafeez has topped the list for the highest run scorer in T20Is in 2020. He has scored 415 runs in 10 matches. Behind him are KL Rahul and DJ Malan with 404 and 397 runs in 11 and 10 innings respectively.

Average – 2nd on the list
Among players who have played 5 or more matches in T20I format in the year 2020, he stands 2nd. He has scored runs with a staggering average of 83 in the 10 games he has played. Above him is MK Pandey who has an average of 122 runs in 7 matches and also has scored a total 122 runs in this year.
Fifties – Tops the list

Azam, Malan, Rahul, Seifert, and Hafeez all have struck four fifties this year in T20I cricket format. However, Hafeez has the highest strike-rate of 152.57 among these players. Hence, he has outperformed other players in managing to score big runs along with aggressive style of play.

Muhammad Hafeez stands among the top three players with highest number of sixes this year in T20I. He hit 20 sixes in his 10 innings. Above him are De Kock and Kamran Khan with 21 and 22 sixes respectively.

Among the players who have struck the highest number of fours this year in T20I, he stands at the 2nd position with 36 fours. He is just behind DJ Malan who has struck 46 fours.

Strike rate is an extremely crucial parameter to consider in the limited overs format of cricket. Muhammad Hafeez, as a middle order batsman, has scored his 415 runs in T20I this year with an impressive strike rate of 152.57.

Muhammad Hafeez has been excellent in T20Is in 2020. Furthermore, he is now the top run-getter for Pakistan in this format with Shoaib Malik. Both of them have scored 2323 runs to date.
Hafeez had announced that he will retire from international cricket after the T20 World Cup in 2020. However, due to COVID-19 as the T20 World Cup 2020 date has been moved forward. Hopefully we will continue to see brilliance of Professor in this format. In 2020 he has been just superb and been Pakistan’s best player.
