IPL is all about runs right? The T20 tournament has record some of the highest totals and huge run chase in the IPL history.
Run chases in the IPL are often exciting, and if it’s a successful one, it’s like icing on the cake. While some teams collapse by the pressure of a run chase some teams absorb the pressure and complete the task.

The number one on this list is the most recent one too which was played on 28th September 2020. In the first innings KXIP scored a huge total of 223 on the Sharjah ground which has often been a batting paradise. This, primarily thanks to Mayank [106(50)] and KL Rahul [69(54)] with fireworks at the end from Pooran[25(8)] and Maxwell[13(9)].

In reply, RR chased down the mammoth total of 224 and that too with 3 balls to spare with 2 huge partnerships amongst Smith and Samson (81 runs) and of Samson and Tewatia of 61 runs. Tewatia spreading fireworks at the end of the innnings by hitting 5 sixes off an over of Sheldon Cottrell.

Sanju Samson was the highest run scorer as well as the man of the match with 85 off just 42 balls, Smith and Tewatia too scored excellent half centuries with the former scoring 50 off 27 and the latter scoring 53 off 31 balls.
This is the HIGHEST RUN CHASE in the history of IPL.
2. RR chasing down 215 runs against Deccan Chargers
A long standing record from the inaugural IPL season has been broken today.
RR have chased down the highest biggest target in IPL history today.

DC scored 214 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi Intl. Stadium in the Hyderabad, thanks to Symonds’ century, who scored 117 runs off just 53 balls, and Rohit who scored 36 off 30 and made a partnership with him.

In reply, when RR came to bat, first wicket of Kamran Akmal fell very early and then onus of runs fell onto Graeme Smith and Yusuf Pathan. They both played their role well and Smith scored 71 off 45 whereas Yusuf scored 61 of just 28 balls.

Mohammad Kaif too made a brisk thirty scoring 34 off just 16 balls.
But now it’s the 17th over with Kaif and Smith on are strike, with seasoned leggie Afridi bowling. First ball, and Kaif has been caught out by Symonds. Second ball, and Smith has been caught out by Kalyanakrishna. Seems like game has been taken off by the Chargers but Shane Warne has some different plans.
Shane Warne comes at the crease with 27 runs needed off the next 16 balls, with Jadeja being at the other end. Though Jadeja went off cheaply, but Warne played a cameo of 22 off just 9 balls to seal the game.
Yusuf got the MoM award for his match winning knock.

3. The Daredevils chasing down successfully 209 runs against Gujarat Lions
This is a game from the IPL 2017. In the first innings Gujarat Lions managed to score 208 runs with Raina leading from the front with 77 off 43 balls and Karthik scoring 65 off just 34 balls.

Now in reply, in the 2nd innings, DD came to bat with an opening pair of captain Karun Nair and Sanju Samson. Though Nair couldn’t play an impactful knock, Samson scored big and that too with an top-class strike rate, he scored 61 off 36 balls, whereas on the other end, Rishabh Pant played a match defining knock with scoring 97 off just 43 balls, Rishabh had his day today, but couldn’t convert it to an 100, Raina consoles him in this picture.

Though, both set batsman got out but they had done their work and DD easily won the match with 7 wickets. (15 balls remaining)

4. Kings XI chase 206 against SRH
And this match is from the IPL 2014 where in the first innings SRH scored 205 runs with captain Dhawan scoring 45(37), Naman Ojha remained unbeaten with 79*(36) and Warner coming at No. 4 playing a cameo of 44 runs in just 23 balls.
In reply, Sehwag got out cheaply but every other player made a mark there. Vohra scoring 47(20), Saha 54(26), Maxwell 43(22), though these batsmen got out.

Miller with captain Bailey ensured that KXIP shouldn’t lose the game from a commanding situation. Bailey scored an unbeaten 35 off just 19 balls and Miller scored unbeaten 24 off 24 balls, and KXIP chased the target with 6 wickets. (8 balls remaining)

5. CSK chase 206 against RCB
Most of the IPL records are nothing without CSK, right?
So here his CSK!
CSK made a comeback at the end of the 2nd innings. CSK wented on to win the match with 5 wickets to spare off the last ball. The saviour for them was Faf du Plessis scoring 71 off 46 also Dhoni finishing things off with 41 runs off 24 balls.

Albie Morkel’s 28 off 7 balls were very handy, as he hit these runs off just a single over of Virat Kohli.
