KXIP vs RR Twitter Reactions
Before we have a look at the KXIP vs RR Twitter reactions, let’s preview how the teams were going into this game and what happened in the game.
The Kings XI Punjab took on the Rajasthan Royals today in game 9 of the Indian Premier League. The Rajasthan Royals had a slight advantage heading into this game. Their overall head-to-head record stood at 10-9.
Last season’s games played a big part in this. The Kings XI Punjab defeated the Rajasthan Royals in both games last season – including the massive match where Jos Buttler was mankaded by Ravi Ashwin.

Prior to this game, the Rajasthan Royals had defeated the Chennai Super Kings in their first game. Meanwhile, The Kings XI Punjab lost a thriller to the Delhi Capitals in a super over before beating the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
How the match panned out
Karnataka boys go beserk

KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal put on an opening stand of 183 and in doing so recorded the third-highest opening partnership in the history of the Indian Premier League. Only Gambhir/Lynn and Warner/Bairstow remain ahead of them.
The Karnataka pairing put the Rajasthan Royals’ bowlers to the sword from the off. No bowler was spared with Ankit Rajpoot recording the best economy rate out of any bowler in the side of 9.8.

Maxwell and Pooran finish in style

Glenn Maxwell finished with 13 from just 9 balls, including two fours. Nicholas Pooran scored 25 off just 8 balls, with three sixes and a four, with most of them coming in the final over against Jofra Archer. The Rajasthan Royals’ bowlers did not bowl well throughout the innings and the short boundaries made it easy to put away bad deliveries.
Smith and Samson fire early

At the end of the first timeout, the Rajasthan Royals were 80-1 after 7 overs. Despite losing Jos Buttler early, Steve Smith and Sanju Samson fired the Rajasthan Royals to a position of strength, from where they could look to chase the total down.
Rahul Tewatia struggles initially and applies pressure on Sanju Samson

Tewatia came in as a pinch hitter but struggled to get going most of his innings. In fact, he played very slow and his batting meant that the asking rate climbed up. He put a lot of pressure on Sanju Samson.
Shami strikes the killer blow

Mohammed Shami had Sanju Samson caught behind when he was on 85 with a slow bouncer that changed the momentum of the game again back to the Kings XI Punjab’s favour.
Tewatia and Archer change the game in style

An absolute smashing effort by Rahul Tewatia in the end and Jofra Archer’s onslaught changed the entire game within two overs. Jofra Archer hit two sixes from his first two balls and Rahul Tewatia made up for his mistakes by scoring five sixes in a single over against Sheldon Cottrell.
You would have been mistaken for thinking that prime Yuvraj Singh was batting instead. But it wasn’t. It was a fired up Rahul Tewatia. What a game, honestly!
T20 Cricket can never be written off. Archer and Tewatia proved exactly why taking the game deep is perfect because a few hits here and there can change the entire course of the game.
