Overall CSK possess a strong head-to-head record vs DC in the history of the IPL. They beat them all three times in 2019. Can CSK emerge triumphant vs DC again on Friday the 25th of September 2020?
Spinners Mauling
As expected, the Sharjah Cricket Ground was a batsmen’s paradise in CSK’s last game against RR. Steve Smith and Sanju Samson – two excellent players of spin bowling feasted on the over pitched deliveries bowled by Piyush Chawla and Ravindra Jadeja. Spinners have long been CSK’s forte.

However, in match 4, Chawla conceded 55 and Jadeja 40. They only picked up one wicket between them. The pair will look to bounce back on a different surface. The Dubai International Cricket Stadium has proven so far to be a low scoring game.

Death Overs Disaster
Lungi Ngidi conceeded 30 runs in his final over. His over consisted of two no-balls and a wide. He has lost pace in his bowling recently and this is perhaps the main reason why he is expensive now. He still picks up wickets – 3 against the Mumbai Indians and 1 against Rajasthan Royals, but needs to stem the flow of runs.

Had he conceeded under 15, it would have been understandable. Ngidi will need all his mental strength to recover from this performance in the CSK vs DC fixture on Friday the 25th of September.
Fafulous Form
Faf Du Plessis has scored back-to-back half-centuries so far in this tournament. He began with a match-winning stand with Ambati Rayudu against the Mumbai Indians in game 1. He then top scored for CSK in game 4, with 72 of just 37 balls. He has upped his game very well in the absence of Suresh Raina.

That Du Plessis continues his form is paramount for the Chennai Super Kings, if they want to reach their play-offs again. He can play according to the situation.

The Marcus Stoinis Show
Marcus Stoinis rescued the Delhi Capitals in game 2 against the Kings XI Punjab. They were tottering at 96-6 before Stoinis hit 53 of just 21 balls to haul them to a respectable 157-8.

In the end, the Kings XI should have still won the game, after they recovered through Mayank Agarwal. However, Stoinis came back with the ball and picked up two wickets in the last over to take the game to a super over.
“Just want to express myself” says Marcus Stoinis.
Red-Hot Rabada Reels Back 2019
Kagiso Rabada picked up two wickets in the game for the Delhi Capitals and then returned to bowl the super over, in which he demolished the Kings XI Punjab. He had KL Rahul caught with a mean bouncer, before destroying Nicholas Pooran’s stumps. Should he continue that form in CSK vs DC, it could be a great game.

This meant that the Delhi Capitals only required 3 to win and they won comfortably in the end. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer scored the runs needed.
CSK vs DC Possible XI’s

CSK – Shane Watson, Murali Vijay, Ambati Rayudu, Faf Du Plessis, Sam Curran, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Piyush Chawla, Deepak Chahar, Lungi Ngidi.
Ideally, CSK would want another bowler in the side to have six options again. Dwyane Bravo is currently injured and therefore, Rayudu could open the batting with Watson and Karn Sharma could slot in to the team or perhaps Shardul Thakur.
DC – Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shimron Hetmyer, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Ravi Ashwin / Amit Mishra, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Mohit Sharma.

Kagiso Rabada and Faf Du Plessis look in red-hot form and are perhaps must have players in your Dream XI IPL 2020 team. From the Indian players, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja could be good picks.
Also, MS Dhoni might be a good option, now that he has had time in middle.
