Who Are The Top 3 Young English Test Cricketers?
The England test cricket side has been gifted with many young talents having great potential to be long term replacements of veterans like Sir Alastair Cook and Jimmy Anderson.
These young English cricketers have proven their mettle against top-quality oppositions in the toughest conditions.
But who are the top 3 young English test cricketers to watch out for?
1. Ollie Pope – #1 Rated in English Test Cricketers

Ollie Pope has a staggering average of 61 in First-Class cricket and has 9 centuries to his name in only 56 innings. He did not have a great debut vs India but showed his class against New Zealand at Hamilton with a gritty 75.
However, his breakthrough series was against South Africa where he amassed 266 runs in only 3 matches at an average of 88.67 including two fifties and a century vs a star-studded Proteas bowling attack in their backyard. He could be a major threat to The Windies in the upcoming test series.
2. Jofra Archer

The most potential among English Test Cricketers
Right after his heroics in the 2019 Cricket World Cup, he was picked in the English test side. Jofra Archer debuted in the 2nd Ashes Test at the Lord’s. He went on to pick 22 wickets in only four tests against the mighty Aussies. He seemed off the charts in New Zealand but came back strongly against South Africa, picking 6 wickets at Centurion.
His domestic numbers are amazing with 166 wickets in only 36 First-Class matches at an outstanding average of 24. He will be hoping to emulate his Ashes form against The Windies.

3. Dominic Sibley

Dominic Sibley was the best batsman in 2019 County Championship season by a country mile. He scored 1324 runs in 12 games at an average of 69.68 including five centuries. He scored 349 runs more than the 2nd highest run-getter, Gary Ballance. After such a brilliant county season he got a call up from the national side to open the batting.
His 133 not out vs South Africa at Cape Town in the third innings of the test match is perhaps the highlight of his career to date. He showed no mercy to the likes of Rabada and Philander and helped England to secure their first victory at Newlands since 1957.
He is a strong leg-side player with loads of patience. The Windies will be hoping to get his wicket early on else he can cause a lot of trouble.
These are the top 3 young English test cricketers. They are likely to perform well and have great careers for England Cricket.
But can they step up against the West Indies?
