Former Washington wide receiver Raiden Vines-Bright<\/a> has transferred to Arizona State. It\u2019s a return home for the former four-star, who played his high school football at Corona Del Sol in Tempe, Arizona, before transferring to IMG Academy for his senior season. Vines-Bright is the first former Husky to commit to their next program in the 2026 transfer portal cycle. He\u2019ll have three seasons of eligibility remaining with the Sun Devils, and he\u2019ll have a clearer path to the top of the depth chart.<\/span><\/p>\n

Raiden Vines-Bright to Arizona State<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sun Devil Receiver Room<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Kenny Dillingham\u2019s program is losing its leading receiver, Jordyn Tyson, to the NFL Draft. He is forgoing his final season of eligibility after leading the Sun Devils in receiving in each of the last two seasons. Behind him, Malik McClain was a senior in 2025 who caught 31 passes at receiver. That was 30 fewer than Tyson, but he was the next-most-targeted receiver in the position room last year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The two departures at the top make way for a potentially wide-open competition for the next starters. The room currently holds Derek Eusebio, Jalen Moss, and Jaron Hamilton who are all expected to return next season. Combined, the trio totaled 45 catches all season. Compared to Tyson and McClain, who caught 92 passes, the next man up in 2026 appears to be anyone\u2019s opportunity. <\/span>This is where Vines-Bright\u2019s opportunity is found. <\/span><\/p>\n

After enrolling at Washington in the Winter of 2025, Vines-Bright quickly climbed the ranks. He had over 100 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Spring Game<\/a>, and earned the starting role at slot receiver for week one ahead of veteran transfer Omari Evans. Vines-Bright proceeded to start eight games in 2025, catching 24 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown. He proved himself as an impactful member of a Power Four roster with the Huskies. Arizona State just provides fewer obstacles in his way.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Vines-Bright is Leaving<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Vines-Bright is leaving behind a position group at Washington that will likely have a lot of competition entering the 2026 offseason. With Denzel Boston entering the NFL Draft<\/a>, it\u2019s likely that Rashid Williams returns to his role as a starter after missing much of the 2025 season due to injury. Vines-Bright\u2019s 2025 class included four other receivers, and Dezmen Roebuck<\/a> also ascended the depth chart after enrolling in the Summer. He was the team\u2019s second-leading receiver last season. Roebuck will likely start in 2026 as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That leaves one starting spot open, where players including Chris Lawson (another class of 2025 receiver) and Justice Williams will likely be competing, among others. That includes the other two talented receivers of the 2025 class, and the four Washington just signed to its class of 2026. Receiver is one of the most talented, but crowded rooms on Montlake. Vines-Bright\u2019s decision to evaluate his options in the transfer portal was understandable. And he now finds himself with a great opportunity close to home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
