Melt butter in a 10-inch cast-iron skillet over medium-high. Add onion, Italian seasoning, salt, garlic powder, and pepper to pan; saut\u00e9 5 minutes. I will probably add this every year!<\/p>\n<div class=\"css-1csxh9k eno1xhi4\">\n<p class=\"css-5s4u28 eno1xhi6\"><strong>For Cheese Ball:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2\u00a0(8-oz.) packages of cream cheese, softened<\/li>\n<li>4 tbsp\u00a0butter, softened<\/li>\n<li>6 oz.\u00a0goat cheese or cheese of your choice<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp.\u00a0garlic powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup\u00a0freshly chopped\u00a0chives<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup\u00a0freshly chopped parsley<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a0sprig of thyme, stem removed, plus more for serving<\/li>\n<li>Kosher salt<\/li>\n<li>Freshly ground black pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"css-1csxh9k eno1xhi4\">\n<p class=\"css-5s4u28 eno1xhi6\"><strong>For Decorating &amp; Serving:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\/4 cup pecan halves, toasted, divided<\/li>\n<li>Red and yellow bell peppers<\/li>\n<li>Orange and white carrots, julienned<\/li>\n<li>Pretzels<\/li>\n<li>Crackers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol class=\"css-19p7hma et3p2gv0\">\n<li>Combine cream cheese, butter, goat cheese, and garlic powder in the bowl of a food processor.<\/li>\n<li>Pulse until smooth. Spray 36 mini muffin pan cups with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.<\/li>\n<li class=\"direction\" data-node-id=\"recipe-instruction.0.1\">Combine the brown sugar,\u00a0butter, egg yolk and vanilla in a bowl. Beat with a mixer on\u00a0medium speed, scraping the bowl often, until creamy. Add the flour, baking powder and salt; beat on low speed until well mixed.<\/li>\n<li class=\"direction\" data-node-id=\"recipe-instruction.0.2\">Shape the dough into 3\/4-inch balls; place each into a prepared mini muffin pan cup, pressing the dough onto bottom and up one-third of the\u00a0sides of each cup, creating a shallow cup.<\/li>\n<li class=\"direction\" data-node-id=\"recipe-instruction.0.3\">Combine all of the\u00a0filling ingredients in a bowl; spoon 1 teaspoon\u00a0filling into each cookie.<\/li>\n<li class=\"direction\" data-node-id=\"recipe-instruction.0.4\">Bake 13 to 15 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Let cool 10 minutes in the pan on a cooling rack. Remove the cookies from the pans by running a small knife around the edge of each cookie. Place onto the cooling rack; cool completely.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<h3><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.number-2-pencil.com\/slow-cooker-spiked-apple-cider-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bourbon Spiked Apple Cider (Crock Pot)\u00a0<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Last but not least a spike beverage. \u00a0You&#8217;ll need enough to serve the whole family to survive the day.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add good quality apple juice to slow cooker.<\/li>\n<li>Add thinly sliced oranges, apples, cinnamon sticks, star anise, cloves and brown sugar and stir.<\/li>\n<li>Heat on low for 3-4 hours.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stir in rum or bourbon before serving.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Garnish cups with orange peels and cinnamon sticks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>On The Menu<\/h3>\n<p>Next week we will tackle more tasty tailgate treats.
