Campbell Finalist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Washington running back <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/jonah-coleman-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jonah Coleman<\/a> was announced as a finalist for the prestigious William V. Campbell Trophy this week. College football\u2019s premier scholar-athlete award is widely regarded as the \u201cAcademic Heisman.\u201d The William V. Campbell Trophy is awarded annually to the individual who exhibits the best combined academic success, football performance, and exemplary leadership. Coleman is one of 16 players across the country announced as a finalist. The 16 finalists were selected from a pool of 180 semifinalists nationwide within the NCAA and NAIA.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>William V. Campbell Finalist<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Washington RB Jonah Coleman\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coleman is studying Education at the University of Washington, and currently holds a 3.91 GPA. He\u2019s a three-time Dean\u2019s List recipient at Washington, and he\u2019s on pace to graduate in December with his degree in Education. On the field, Coleman became the 15th Washington Husky to rush for 1,000-plus yards in a single season, rushing for 1,053 in 2024. He was then named a team captain for the 2025 season. Coleman currently leads the nation in rushing touchdowns with 12 and total touchdowns with 13 on the year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jedd Fisch began his Thursday afternoon press conference by congratulating Coleman on being selected as a finalist for the prestigious award. \u201cIn so many ways, Jonah represents everything we could ever dream of for our program,\u201d Fisch said on Thursday. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe way he speaks as a teammate, the way he challenges our team to excel academically as well as athletically.\u201d Fisch called the team captain an \u201celite worker\u201d in the weight room, on the practice field, and in the classroom. \u201c[It] is all that any coach, parent, friend, teammate could ever ask for,\u201d Fisch continued. \u201cHe\u2019s truly a culture champion for our program.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On December 9th, at the National Football Foundation Awards Dinner, a winner will be announced as the 36th William V.
