We have a question to ask. Who is good in 2025? Wes Pruett does an excellent job covering Arkansas for Memphis sports and 4 Star Sports. On Saturday, he asked the question that perfectly summed up Week 6 chaos — are we finally seeing real parity in college football?

Now, mind you, he asked that before we called an ambulance, not for Billy Napier and the Gators but for Arch Manning and the Horns. And before we saw Diego Pavia show that he is human, he made not one but two critical errors that cost Vandy a chance to upset Bama for a second year in a row.

The SEC is lacking a dominant team in 2025. It is weird and a bit unnerving. We had Urban Meyer and the Gators in the late 2000s. Nick Saban and the Tide forever…or seemingly forever. In the last few years, Georgia has made moves. But rather being top-heavy and riding the coast strings of one or two teams. The SEC has depth. Take a look at the latest AP Poll; the SEC teams are behind teams from the Big Ten and ACC.

No. 4 Ole Miss
No. 5 Texas A&M
No. 6 Oklahoma
No. 8 Alabama
No. 10 Georgia
No. 11 LSU
No. 12 Tennessee
No. 13 Missouri
No. 20 Vanderbilt

But let’s be honest, NIL and the Transfer Portal have changed the calculus of college football. The ceiling and floor of stockpiling and hoarding talent have narrowed. We must adapt to the new reality, even if it is uncomfortable. We should look to Lane Kiffin and embrace the chaos and unpredictability that come with it.

“No other conference is like it. Not only does no other conference play as many hard places to play, especially when you think it has always been that way, and add Oklahoma and Texas to it…now you have improved rosters at the bottom.”

So, rather than ask and debate who is good. Let us celebrate that it still Just Means More in the SEC.

Week 7 SEC Betting Lines

FanDuel Week 7 SEC Betting Lines

Rankings are based on the AP media poll. While we are all trying to react and analyze what is happening on the field, they do an excellent job of capturing how we feel each week. Week 6 was chaos and worthy of a trip to the emergency room. Hats off to Josh and the gang! Btw, we are back to .500. Don’t call it a comeback!

Week 1: 3-2

YTD: 15-15

No. 8 Alabama vs. No. 14 Missouri

An 11 a.m. local kick, an undefeated Tigers’ squad, and a fan base that will be rocking wait for Alabama to kick off the Week 7 slate. The Tide survived against Pavia and Vanderbilt last Saturday. However, they will need to come out ready from the jump against Mizzou. The Tigers have a high-powered offense and a strong running game, and are looking for the signature win in the Eli Drinkwitz era. Kalen DeBoer’s Tide have struggled in these circumstances this year and last. Look for a sloppy first half and Ty Simpson to add to his Heisman resume with some late-game heroics.

Pick: Alabama

No. 6 Oklahoma vs. Texas

Texas is back…. underperforming. It was supposed to be different in Austin. Steve Sarkisian has the Horns roll through the Big 12 in the Horns’ last year and then walked his way into an SEC Championship in year one. The loss in Columbus in Week 1 hurt, but could be excused. A loss to the helter-skelter Florida Gators is just unacceptable. Arch Manning has struggled, but his offensive line has been downright offensive. The Horns’ QB1 was under constant duress against the Gators, and too many penalties kept Texas off schedule. Now, they head to Big Tex to meet Oklahoma, whose defense is ranked #1 or near the top in almost every statistical category. Hold your beer, this game will probably get weird and a little drunk. We will all need some of those great Texas Fair treats after this one.

Pick: Oklahoma

Florida vs. No. 5 Texas A&M

Are the Gators back, or did they just catch Texas at the perfect moment? The last time Napier and the Gators played a game in Texas, they lost 49-27 in Austin. Now, they head to College Station to face one of the hottest teams in the SEC and the country. The Aggies have played lockdown defense and have run over the competition with their running game in the last two games. The Gators are a different team away from the Swamp under Napier. Florida is 11-5 at home and a paltry 10-17 on the road. Look for more pain from the 12th Man on Saturday night.

Pick: Texas A&M

No. 10 Georgia vs. Auburn

Georgia bounced back in a big way after their loss to Alabama by making quick work against Kentucky. That is at least what the scoreboard showed. The Bulldogs cruised to a 34-14 victory in their Homecoming game between the Hedges. Jordan Hare at night might not be so kind. Weird things can happen on The Plains at night. Georgia has had the upper hand in this series, winning the last eight games in a row. But, questions on their ability to stop the run and not give up big passing plays will be enough to keep Kirby Smart and Dawg fans awake heading into the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. Auburn and Hugh Freeze are having their own problems. A porous offensive line, a refusal to run the ball, and an inability to complete passes have the Tigers at 0-2 in the SEC for the third consecutive year. This will not be a blowout and instead will be the scary movie that may have both fan bases covering their eyes at times.

Pick: Georgia

Photo Credit: Joshua L. A heavyweight quarterback battle between Garret Nussmeier of LSU and LaNorris Sellers of South Carolina. It hasn’t quite turned out that way for either team. Nuss and LSU have had difficulty finding any traction on offense, and Nuss seems to be either hurt or pressing, or both. Sellers has looked excellent for the Gamecocks, but he is only one player. Shane Beamer was slow to add more wide receiver depth or any reinforcements to the backfield to aid Sellers in improving upon last year’s 9-3 season. This marks the beginning of a challenging stretch for the Gamecocks, who will face ranked teams one after another. This will also have both fan bases covering their eyes, but the LSU defense will make a few extra plays to keep the party in Baton Rouge flowing.

Pick: LSU

Main Photo: BRYAN TERRY/THE OKLAHOMAN / USA TODAY NETWORK

Before we get to the Week 7 SEC Betting lines.
