Notre Dame will play anybody, anywhere, any time…but Fayetteville? It just doesn’t seem to fit. The Hogs have had some bad luck, seeing late fumbles turn what could have been likely victories into cranking up the hot seat on Sam Pittman. Pittman likes a challenge, though. He likes to be counted out. If he can keep his offensive coordinator focused on The Irish and not gathering boosters to pay Pittman’s buyout, the Hogs should score against a weak Irish defense. They had to bring the stealth bomber for a flyover to get folks out of The Grover for the afternoon kick. But, let’s be honest. This game deserves an all-day tailgate so that the fans will be in full spirits when they come into the Vaught. This is one of the conference’s great rivalries and is protected by the permanent opponents. Ole Miss comes into the game flying high on offense and defense after clowning Tulane last week. LSU has something to prove. The Week 1 Clemson win has lost all of its shine. Can Nuss and the Tigers get the offense in gear to top Trinidad Chambliss and Ole Miss?

Hell yeah! What is Hugh Freeze’s signature win on The Plains? He has had plenty of bad losses and a few close losses, like last week in Norman. The problem remains the same for Brother Hugh’s team. A quarterback who is mobile but still cannot hit his receivers consistently. Jackson Arnold made some big plays, but getting sacked ten times puts the blame on holding the ball too long, even before you blame the offensive line. Texas A&M is undefeated and is coming off a big win in South Bend two weeks ago. The offense has looked good, but the defense is still struggling to find consistent stops.

Fore! Auburn

No. 15 Tennessee @ Mississippi State

This one is a sneaky good game of the Week 5 SEC slate. The Cowbells are undefeated and 4-0 for the first time since 2014. Jeff Lebby’s squad is feeling good and will face its biggest test of the season. Mississippi State found a late miracle to knock off Arizona State a couple of weeks ago, but they will need more than that to help them beat the Vols. Joey Aguilar has made the “Nico who?” crowd smile. He has the accuracy and big-play ability to make the Vols’ offense hum. He will need to limit turnovers in order to get Rocky Top back to an SEC Championship or CFB Playoff appearance.

Rocky Top, you’ll always be Home sweet home to me

No. 17 Alabama @ No. 5 Georgia

Kirby Smart and the Dawgs have been automatic at home and against most SEC teams over the last four years.
