Injuries have hindered different portions of his career, but his performance in 2022 stands out, particularly to Husky fans. That season, Davis scored 13 touchdowns on over 100 attempts as a part of a running back duo that also featured Wayne Taulapapa. At <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/collegefootball\/2025\/07\/23\/jedd-fisch-takes-podium-at-big-ten-media-days\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Big Ten Media Days in Las Vegas<\/a>, Minnesota head coach PJ Fleck had high praise for his new running back addition. It appears that the former member of Chris Petersen\u2019s 2019 class at Washington has found a great fit in Dinkytown.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Minnesota Running Back Cam Davis<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>PJ Fleck on Cam Davis<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI love Cam,\u201d Fleck said of the former Husky running back. \u201cCam was actually just voted a captain of our football team.\u201d Davis transferred to Minnesota in the Winter transfer portal window and has quickly made an impact on his new roster. \u201cTo come as a \u2018transplant\u2019 slash portal transfer,\u201d Fleck began. \u201cAnd then be voted captain <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">before<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the season starts, says a lot about Cam. It says a lot about his family, it says a lot about his upbringing, it says a lot about his work ethic.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cGo ask <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/darius-taylor-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Darius Taylor<\/a> about Cam,\u201d Fleck added. Taylor, a true junior, was an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2023 and 2024 and will be the Gophers\u2019 starting running back again this Fall. Fleck continued, \u201cHe\u2019ll tell you that [Davis] might be one of the best ones, if not the best one we have. Darius has no problem telling you that.\u201d From the words of Fleck, Davis appears to have made an instant connection in his new locker room. Being voted a team captain so quickly also speaks to the character and leadership skills of the former Husky.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fleck said that Davis was a little limited this Spring. But from the appearances and rotations Davis did make during practice, Fleck was enthusiastic. \u201cI thought he was fabulous and I look forward to training camp to watch him, because I think he\u2019s going to do a lot of good things for us.\u201d Davis totaled 15 touchdowns in his Washington career.
