The Las Vegas, Nevada native is the second-ranked player in his home state, and ranks inside the top 20 nationally at his position. As a junior at Faith Lutheran High School, he notched 110 total tackles, 90 of which were solo, 16 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions. He took one back for a touchdown. Day is a hard-hitting safety who instinctively plays downhill and fast. The four-star chose the Huskies over Iowa, USC, and Utah.

Day has a unique build at safety, standing at 6’-3”. But that’s not something the Husky defensive staff is unfamiliar with. In fact, it’s something they prioritize. Both of this year’s anticipated starting cornerbacks for Washington are 6’-4”. Safeties Alex McLaughlin and Paul Mencke Jr. both stand at 6’-2”. Length in the secondary is becoming much more of a desired trait in new age defenses around the sport. The Washington staff has been at the forefront of molding its defense to play to the advantages of lengthy players. Day fits that mold.

Three-Star Dominic Harris

Washington added to its star-studded offensive line class of 2026 with the commitment of three-star Harris. At 6’-8” and 325 pounds, Harris is the biggest offensive line recruit in the Huskies’ class. He’s just in front of the 6’-6” and 310-pound five-star Kodi Greene. Harris’ visit to Seattle was his second official visit of the Summer. He officially visited Auburn earlier in May and has visits scheduled at Arizona, Utah, and Oregon. Harris is teammates with three-star athlete Dre Pollard at Ed W Clark High School in Las Vegas. Pollard also made his official visit on Montlake over the weekend of May 30th.

Five-Star Buzz

Last week, five-star athlete Brandon Arrington announced a last-minute official visit to Washington. The nation’s top athlete and top 10 player nationally suited up in the purple and gold with Day, Harris, and several other Husky recruits over the weekend of May 30th. It was a significant momentum builder for Washington’s staff, earning a visit from the elite prospect.
