The four-star committed to play for Kirby Smart last November. Spafford’s slate this summer includes official visits to Colorado, Washington, UCLA, and USC, ending with a trip to Athens. The California native visited Washington for the program’s Junior Day recruiting event back in March, alongside several other elite recruits.

Spafford is off of back-to-back 1,000-yard-plus seasons at wide receiver at Mission Viejo High School in California. As a junior, Spafford caught 57 passes for 1,017 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also blocked two punts that season. The year prior, he hauled in 83 passes for 1,576 yards and 22 touchdowns. Through three high school seasons, Spafford has 37 total touchdowns and nearly 2,900 all-purpose yards. At 5’-11”, Spafford has logged multiple sub-11.0-second 100-meter times and uses that speed to create separation on the field. He’ll be on campus at Washington the weekend of May 30th.

Texas A&M Commit Madden Williams

The Huskies are hosting another four-star receiver during the May 30th weekend in Madden Williams. The St. John Bosco High School receiver is currently committed to Texas A&M, but like Spafford, he also visited Washington during its Junior Day earlier this Spring. In addition to Washington’s interest in the four-star, Williams is slated to make official visits to Florida State and USC, ending with a late-June visit to College Station. Williams already took an official visit to Arizona State in early May.

Williams’ junior season at St. John Bosco was his best. He caught 50 passes for 851 yards and 13 touchdowns. In 2023, Williams had 42 catches for 500 yards and five scores. The receiver room at his high school contains another four-star in Oklahoma commit Daniel Odom, who visited Washington for Junior Day as well. Washington remains competitively in the mix for Williams, and it will have its opportunity to sway the recruit this weekend.

UCLA Commit Anthony Jones

EDGE rusher Anthony Jones is currently committed to UCLA and will be on campus this weekend at Washington for his official visit. The California native has official visits lined up beginning with Washington and UCLA, before ending with a trip to Knoxville to visit Tennessee. Jones is a high three-star recruit according to 247Sports and is off of an impressive junior campaign at Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, California.

At 6’-5” and 270 pounds, Jones notched 54 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks. He also pulled down an interception during his junior season. That stat line included 14 quarterback hurries and three pass breakups. Jones has 12.5 sacks over his last two seasons of high school, 100 tackles, and 13 tackles for loss. Jones can be a versatile player on the defensive line at both the EDGE and even on the interior. Similar to the role of current Husky Ta’ita’i Uiagalelei. His recent commitment was narrowed to a final three of UCLA, Tennessee, and Washington. The Husky staff will have an opportunity to convince him on May 30th.

Defensive Backs – SMU & Oklahoma

Washington is hosting a pair of defensive back recruits this weekend who each hold commitments elsewhere. The first is Ryan Gilbert, a three-star cornerback who’s pledged to SMU. He chose the Mustangs over Oklahoma and Houston, but maintains an official visit to Washington this weekend. Gilbert’s slate of officials includes Oklahoma, SMU, but Washington has the first opportunity this weekend. Gilbert notched 44 tackles, three tackles for loss, and three pass breakups as a junior at North Forney High School in Forney, Texas.

Arizona native Niko Jandreau is a top 15 player from his state and currently holds a commitment to play at Oklahoma. Both the Sooners and Washington offered the 6’-1” safety in February, and he committed in mid-May. His final list of schools included the Huskies, as well as Georgia Tech, Missouri, and USC. Jandreau has visits lined up at Iowa State, San Diego State, and Washington, before ending with a trip to Norman. Washington will be his first official visit since his commitment. At Hamilton High School in Chandler, Arizona, Jandreau logged 51 tackles as a sophomore with three tackles for loss and two interceptions.

Main Image: Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images

Washington’s first big weekend of official visits begins on Friday, May 30th with 17 recruits unofficially slated to be on campus.
