2017 Stanford Cardinal Position Group Preview<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Greetings, friends. How have you been? Missing football terribly, you say? Yeah. Me too. Well, blissfully, our long national nightmare is almost over. We are already in the last month of 2017 without football, and the season will commence before the very next month on the calendar has ended.<\/p>\n

So let\u2019s take a look at Stanford\u2019s 2017 position groups, shall we? Stanford loses not one, but two of the very best players in its storied history to the NFL in Solomon Thomas<\/a> (#3 overall draft pick, to San Francisco) and Christian McCaffrey<\/a> (#8 overall draft pick, to Carolina). That hurts. That would hurt any program. The key question is whether the 2017 Cardinal will be more like the Tee Martin<\/a>-led Tennessee Volunteers after Peyton Manning<\/a> exhausted his eligibility, or like Auburn after Cam Newton<\/a> took his talents and Heisman to Carolina after his national championship season. Let\u2019s break down the Cardinal\u2019s 2017 depth chart<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Stanford returns Keller Chryst<\/a>, assuming his ruptured ACL has properly mended in time for the beginning of fall camp.
