That single tackle for loss was perhaps his most impactful play in a Husky uniform. With their backs to their own goal line, the Husky defense stopped USC on fourth and goal to help secure the victory. It was House who shot the gap to bring down the Trojan running back for a loss and force a turnover on downs. That single play was arguably the loudest Husky Stadium roared all season. House started that game and played 47 snaps, the most of his young career.

We knew that House would emerge as an impactful player for this Husky defense based on what we learned in the Spring and Fall leading up to the season. “He’s done a really good job of understanding what we ask him to do, either fundamentally, technically, schematically,” linebackers coach Robert Bala said in late April. “I think he’s going to have an opportunity to get on the field a lot earlier in his career.” Not only did he play early on, he started five games as a true freshman. But he recommitted to the new staff, and it paid off with a successful season. Now, for the second time this calendar year, House is in the portal with three years of eligibility remaining.

The most significant transfer portal news for Washington thus far dropped on Monday evening.
