As it stands right now four of the Cats’ 19 commits are in-state players. Even when one does get away they generally return. A case in point is a top athlete who originally pledged to a neighboring school but came back home. Let’s introduce you to him, talk about his recruiting process, and show you how he fits in as Kentucky signs Montavin Quisenberry.

Change Of Heart

On June 21st of this year, the Boyle County star broke the hearts of the Big Blue Nation. The five-foot-nine, 175-pound Quisenberry elected to play for former Cat and then West Virginia coach Neal Brown. However, he had a change of heart and is heading to Kentucky.

After careful consideration and talks with my family, I have decided to decommit from West Virginia University. The decision was not made lightly as I have tremendous respect for the WVU coaching staff and team.
With that being said I am committing to KENTUCKY! In addition, he ran for 882 yards and 12 more scores. If that wasn’t enough he also completed five of seven passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns. If that wasn’t enough he also played defensive back.

Boyle County had a 27-game winning streak snapped in a surprising 37-28 loss to Covington Catholic in the Kentucky Class 4A playoffs. In the loss, Quisenberry ran for a career-high 247 yards and two touchdowns.

Now that we’ve given some background on a future Cat let’s show how he’ll fit in as Kentucky signs Montavin Quisenberry.

Possible Early Playing Time

The receiver position is one of many to watch during the off-season. Both Barion Brown and Dane Key are eligible for the 2025 NFL Draft should they choose to go that route. In addition, Ja’Mori Maclin could be headed out of town. After being an afterthought for most of the year, he emerged as a favorite target over the last month. UK also has several younger players who could step up next year. If Brown, Key, and Maclin aren’t in Lexington the opportunity for immediate playing time is there.

Thanks for checking out our profile as Kentucky signs Montavin Quisenberry.
