With five months to go until Early Signing Day, Ryan Walters and the Purdue Boilermakers were sitting at the bottom of the 18-team Big Ten<\/a> with just 10 commitments. They earned their 11th pledge on Friday in a big way as four-star corner Dawayne Galloway<\/a> joined the Purdue 2025 recruiting class.<\/p>\n

247Sports rates Galloway as the 22nd-best corner in the class and the ninth-best player from Ohio. Of all of the recruiting services, Rivals is the highest on Galloway, rating him seventh and fourth, respectively. He represents the 11th commitment in the Purdue 2025 recruiting class and the first corner.<\/p>\n

This marks the second time in as many seasons that a Galloway committed to Purdue from central Ohio (tight end, Tavion Galloway, no relation). He picked Purdue over the likes of Syracuse, West Virginia, and Kentucky.<\/p>\n

Four-Star Corner Dawayne Galloway Joins the Purdue 2025 Recruiting Class<\/h2>\n

Galloway is a two-way, two-sport athlete at Marion-Franklin High School on the Southeast side of Columbus, Ohio.<\/p>\n

One of the things that pops off the tape with Galloway is his speed. In addition to being a star on the gridiron, Galloway ran track and ran a 10.48 100 and 21.56 200. As a junior, he placed second in the OHSAA D-II State Finals in both the 100 meters and 200 meters. that speed translates well to the football field.<\/p>\n

He is a multi-faceted player who lines up at corner, receiver, and returner. As a corner, he has impressive closing speed and can make up for any mistakes made. He can play off the ball and line up in press. Galloway has decent strength as a six-foot-one, 175-pound player who could afford to add some mass to his frame.<\/p>\n

He is a big fish in a small pond as there are not many receivers on his high school schedule that can match his speed and physicality. There will be a bit of an adjustment once he gets on campus. However, he has the athletic ability to make an impact early<\/a> as either a corner or return man.<\/p>\n
