What a great slate, filled with drama, and some surprising results. It was a stark reminder of what makes college football so great. The Week 2 schedule of games is not quite as compelling, but it is still more of the sport that we love. Once again, we cannot wait.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DK\u2019s 2016 Week 2 CFB Game Picks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All game times in Eastern Daylight Time.<\/p>\n<p>Last Week: \u00a0\u00a0 7-3 (.700)<\/p>\n<p>2016 Season: 7-3 (.700)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Penn State @ Pittsburgh (Saturday, September 10<\/strong><strong><sup>th<\/sup><\/strong><strong>, 12:00 p.m., ESPN)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you weren\u2019t rooting for Pitt RB <strong><a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/james-conner-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">James  Conner<\/a><\/strong> to do something like what he did in Pitt\u2019s Week 1 win over Villanova, you aren\u2019t human. As an encore, he gets to take on <strong><a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/james-franklin-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">James  Franklin<\/a>\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>Penn State Nittany Lions<\/strong> at home on Saturday. Pitt is favored to win, and should do just that. Here\u2019s to Conner continuing to accomplish the improbable in Week 2 and thereafter.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Pittsburgh 31, Penn State 21<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>North Carolina State @ East Carolina (Saturday, September 10<\/strong><strong><sup>th<\/sup><\/strong><strong>, 12:00 p.m., ESPNU\/Watch ESPN)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Pirates<\/strong> got a terrific performance from QB <strong><a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/philip-nelson-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philip  Nelson<\/a><\/strong> in their opener, and they welcome the rival <strong>Wolfpack<\/strong> to <strong>Greenville<\/strong> in Week 2. NC State got good play from QB <strong><a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/ryan-finley-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan  Finley<\/a><\/strong> and RB <strong>Matthew Dayes<\/strong> in Week 1. <strong>ECU<\/strong> seems to be improved but shouldn\u2019t be a match for NC State, even at home.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: NC State 35, East Carolina 24<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cincinnati @ Purdue (Saturday, September 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 12:00 p.m., BTN)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>RB <strong><a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/markell-jones-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Markell  Jones<\/a><\/strong> keys the improved <strong>Boilermaker<\/strong> attack, against a potent Cincinnati squad, which may call the Big XII home as early as next season. The Bearcats come in as the favorite, but <strong>Darrell Hazell\u2019s<\/strong> Purdue team will pull the upset at home.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Purdue 28, Cincinnati 24<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brigham Young @ Utah (Saturday, September 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 7:30 p.m., FOX)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both teams looked good in wins to open the season. <strong>The Holy War<\/strong> is always intense, and this year\u2019s edition promises to be just that. <strong>BYU<\/strong> barely got past a sloppy <strong>Arizona<\/strong> team in Week One, and Utah is significantly better and will be within the friendly confines of <strong>Rice-Eccles Stadium<\/strong>. The <strong>Utes<\/strong> will get the win at home.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Utah 35, BYU 14<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Utah State @ USC (Saturday, September 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 1:00 p.m., P12N)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These teams both had rough starts to their seasons this past week. Utah State\u2019s humiliation was far less noticed, though. <strong><a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/juju-smith-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">JuJu  Smith-Schuster<\/a><\/strong> reportedly lost his cool in practice this week, undoubtedly due to residual\u00a0frustration from the thrashing his team endured at <strong>AT&amp;T Stadium<\/strong>. <strong>USC<\/strong> is at home, is more desperate, and has more talent. The <strong>Trojans<\/strong> roll.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: USC 51, Utah State 24<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Connecticut @ Navy (Saturday, September 10<\/strong><strong><sup>th<\/sup><\/strong><strong>, 3:30 p.m., CBSSN)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Navy ground out a win in Week One, and there is no word as to whether or not the <strong>Midshipmen<\/strong> will need to call a backup QB out of the stands to dress for the second half in this game. <strong>UConn<\/strong> is lead by dual-threat QB <strong><a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/bryant-shirreffs-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bryant  Shirreffs<\/a><\/strong>, facing off against <strong>Ken Niumatololo\u2019s<\/strong> unconventional wishbone attack. Navy won 11 games last year, and will win this one also.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Navy 21, Connecticut 10<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Georgia State @ Air Force (Saturday, September 10<\/strong><strong><sup>th<\/sup><\/strong><strong>, 2:00 p.m., CAMP)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Air Force won its season-opening tune-up against <strong>Texas Abilene<\/strong>, while Georgia State fell to <strong>Ball State<\/strong>. The Falcons love playing at altitude in <strong>Colorado Springs<\/strong>, and figure to handle the visiting <strong>Panthers<\/strong> at home.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Air Force 41, Georgia State 20<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wake Forest @ Duke (Saturday, September 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 3:30 p.m., ESPNU)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wake Forest did all that it could to set offensive football back by decades last week, in a 7-3 victory over even more offensively-challenged <strong>Tulane<\/strong>. Surprisingly, Duke is only a modest favorite in this game, but should be able to get the win at home.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Duke 20, Wake Forest 7<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arkansas @ TCU (Saturday, September 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 7:00 p.m., ESPN)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Razorbacks<\/strong> and the <strong>Horned Frogs<\/strong> both struggled mightily in season-opening wins last week. TCU is favored by more than seven, which seems like far too many. Expect Arkansas to win the game outright.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Arkansas 37, TCU 31<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Virginia Tech vs. Tennessee (Saturday, September 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 8:00 p.m., ABC)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bristol Motor Speedway<\/strong> will break the NCAA record for attendance in a single game, with more than 150,000 expected to be in the stands for this game. <strong><a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/justin-fuente-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Justin  Fuente<\/a><\/strong> will bring <strong>Bud Foster<\/strong> and his defense, to try to harass and unsettle <strong>Josh Dobbs<\/strong> as much as <strong>Appalachian State<\/strong> did last week.
