But the Huskers aren’t done on the road just yet. They are visiting with some 2025 targets. Let’s look at the prominent names that NU’s coaching staff is going after.

Early Bird Gets the QB

Now that Daniel Kaelin and five-star Dylan Raiola have joined the Huskers roster, the quarterback room looks deeper than ever before. But if Glenn Thomas and Marcus Satterfield want to make their offense even more competitive, Iowa quarterback Alex Manske is a priority target. As a junior for Algona High School, he passed for 35 passes for 525 yards and two touchdowns. Since then, he has fielded offers from schools like Kansas State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame. According to 247Sports, he’s a heavy lean towards Iowa State, but the Huskers have plenty of time to pursue his talents in his senior year.

Read more about Rhule’s connection with Glenn Thomas in What Does The Addition of Glenn Thomas Mean For Nebraska?

Another Star for Tony White To Develop?

On Nebraska’s Junior Day last Saturday, 2025 edge rusher Jaylen Williams felt a bit out of place with the Cornhuskers. According to Inside Nebraska, this was the prospect’s only visit to Lincoln. As such, he was worried that, “That it was just going to be empty.” But as he progressed on his visit, he realized that he would fit into Tony White’s 3-3-5 defense “very well.” This led him to gain greater trust with defensive line coach Terrance Knighton and the rest of the coaches on that side of the ball because “they’re such great people.” But will the program’s atmosphere make him shut down his recruitment on his next visit? It’s a good thought, but the four-star player has already visited programs like Michigan, Tennessee, Iowa, and Notre Dame. And soon, he’s visiting another Big Ten opponent in head coach Ryan Walter’s Purdue Boilermakers.

The New Tight End U?

In 2024, Nebraska added four-star Ainsworth tight end Carter Nelson to its recruiting class. And it was quite a battle to poach him from Georgia tight ends coach Todd Hartley. But luckily, the Big Red was able to keep the eight-man football player in state. And now, it looks like Rhule and the rest of the coaching staff are trying to duplicate their efforts with another 2025 target. On January 5th, Rhule extended an offer to 6-foot 6 Platteview tight end Reiman Ziebert. Although he isn’t as highly touted as Nelson, the Platteview native still brings about an intriguing addition for Cornhusker tight ends coach Josh Martin. He has the weight to play at 200 pounds, and he also has production at the high school level. According to Inside Nebraska, his ability as a deep threat allowed him to capture Class C honors with the Trojans after catching “28 passes for 677 yards and seven touchdowns.”The only bad sign is that he has two offers out of high school. Nebraska is a great start, but he has to have a great senior season in order to garner more attention

A Prospect To Know at Wide Reciever

In the 2024 recruiting class, Nebraska selected two solid pass catchers in the transfer portal. This includes former Wyoming standout Isaiah Neyor, as well as Wake Forest wideout Jahmal Banks. Furthermore, the Huskers also loaded up on players from the high school ranks. This was shown when the program added legacy Keelan Smith early in the 2023 recruiting class. And when wideouts coach Garrett McGuire went in-state, he was able to draw Isaiah McMorris and Daevonn Hall to the program. For Dylan Raiola and the rest of Nebraska’s quarterbacks, these prospects are great fits that certainly give more insight into the Glenn Thomas offense in 2024. But the coaching staff isn’t done yet with the position. In fact, they have identified one 2025 prospect that would fit their needs. On Tuesday, the program visited with Homestead (FL) wide receiver Cortez Mills. At 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, he fits the makeup that McGuire would like to have. But it seems more like a wish right now. According to Cornhuskers Wire, Mills made 53 catches for 1,136 yards and two touchdowns in his junior campaign for the Broncos. Because of this, expect him to garner even more attention from bigger programs.

Great weekend w/@raw7v7

Some clips from this past tournament 😎@Andrew_Ivins @ChadSimmons_ @samspiegs @SWiltfong247 @adamgorney @MikeRoach247 @TheCribSouthFLA @adamgorney pic.twitter.com/KqyrzCLFhn

— Cortez Mills (@whycover3) January 30, 2024

Photo courtesy: Dylan Widger-USA TODAY Sports

Under head coach Matt Rhule, the Nebraska Cornhuskers 2024 recruiting class is filled to the brim with talent. According to 247Sports, the program boasts the 23rd recruiting class and the 48th portal class.
