Reno, the son of Yale head coach Tony Reno, throws a nice ball and has plenty of arm talent to have success at the Power 5 level. He has spent his entire life around football, which shows on the field. Reno’s football IQ often gives him the upper hand as he can react more naturally to what is happening on the field. He has been committed to South Carolina since July 2022 and has been an active social media recruiter. He has all the skills and athleticism needed to succeed in the SEC. He throws a great ball and showcases the ability to run when needed. Like many freshmen, Reno will need to add strength as he makes his way into the college game. However, his maturity is what stands out the most. Strong work ethic and leadership come along with maturity, and Reno has it all. He will have the opportunity to learn under redshirt freshman LaNorris Sellers in 2024 but can capture the locker room and lead well. He will make a push for the backup job by the end of the season, especially if Luke Doty remains at wide receiver. While Reno is very talented on the field, teams can only play one quarterback at a time. Even if he does not see the field much as a freshman, this player makes the team better, no matter his role.

Photo courtesy: Rick Cinclair/Telegram & Gazette / USA TODAY NETWORK

Four-star quarterback Dante Reno is now officially a Gamecock.
