So, while researching tasty treats for this weekend I fell down the Sloppy Joe rabbit hole. But first things first did y&#8217;all save last weeks <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/collegefootball\/2023\/09\/15\/tasty-tailgate-treats-when-you-dip-i-dip-we-dip\/\" target=\"_self\">I Dip, You Dip, We Dip<\/a>? Which was your favorite? I made the cheesy black bean dip. It did not disappoint. This week we tackle all sorts of Sloppy Joes. Who knew there were so many Sloppy Joes out there.\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I also included the old fashioned great grandmas recipe Sloppy Joe. Just because sometimes you need the OG.\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Hope y&#8217;all find a good recipe to add to your recipe rotation. \u00a0Enjoy! <\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Tasty Tailgate Treats A Slew of Sloppy Joes<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"css-19tdrsr exadjwu10\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepioneerwoman.com\/food-cooking\/recipes\/a44566624\/buffalo-chicken-sloppy-joes-recipe\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Buffalo Chicken Sloppy Joes<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 tbsp.\u00a0unsalted butter<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a0medium yellow onion, chopped<\/li>\n<li>2\u00a0medium carrots, peeled and chopped<\/li>\n<li>3\u00a0stalks celery, chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 tsp.\u00a0kosher salt, plus more to taste<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp.\u00a0ground black pepper<\/li>\n<li>3\u00a0cloves garlic, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>2 lb.\u00a0ground chicken<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a08-ounce can tomato sauce<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 c.\u00a0buffalo sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp.\u00a0honey or brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp.\u00a0Worcestershire sauce<\/li>\n<li>8\u00a0hamburger buns<\/li>\n<li>Crumbled blue cheese, for serving<\/li>\n<li>Ranch dressing, for serving<\/li>\n<li>Blue cheese dressing, for serving<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol class=\"css-19p7hma et3p2gv0\">\n<li>In a large skillet or Dutch oven, melt the\u00a0butter over medium-high heat. Add the onion, carrot, celery, salt, and pepper. Cook until the vegetables are softened but not browned, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, 30 seconds. Add the ground chicken and cook until the meat is crumbly and no longer pink.<\/li>\n<li>Add the tomato sauce, buffalo sauce, honey, and Worcestershire, stirring well to combine. Simmer until heated through, tasting for salt.<\/li>\n<li>Serve sloppy joe filling hot on hamburger buns with crumbled blue cheese and ranch or blue cheese dressing.<\/li>\n<li>Slow cooker reheat instructions: Allow the filling to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container and storing it in the refrigerator. At least 2 hours before it\u2019s time to eat, place the filling into the crock of a slow cooker and heat on low, stirring occasionally, until hot, 1 to 2 hours.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 class=\"recipe-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tasteofhome.com\/recipes\/slow-cooker-italian-sloppy-joes\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Slow-Cooker Italian Sloppy Joes<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean)<\/li>\n<li>2 pounds bulk Italian sausage<\/li>\n<li>2 medium green peppers, chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 large onion, chopped<\/li>\n<li>4 cups spaghetti sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 pound sliced fresh mushrooms<\/li>\n<li>1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste<\/li>\n<li>2 garlic cloves, minced<\/li>\n<li>2 bay leaves<\/li>\n<li>36 hamburger buns, split<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-directions__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Cook the beef, sausage, peppers and onion in a Dutch oven over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, breaking it into crumbles; drain.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Transfer to a 6-qt. slow cooker.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Stir in the spaghetti sauce, tomatoes, mushrooms, tomato paste, garlic and bay leaves.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Cover and cook on high until flavors are blended, 4-5 hours.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Discard bay leaves.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Serve on buns, 1\/2 cup on each.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 class=\"recipe-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tasteofhome.com\/recipes\/moo-shu-sloppy-joes\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moo Shu Sloppy Joes<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list recipe-ingredients__collection splitColumns\">\n<li>2 teaspoons cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup cold water<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup barbecue sauce<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup hoisin sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons minced fresh gingerroot<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon minced garlic<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>1 small onion, sliced<\/li>\n<li>1 small sweet red pepper, sliced<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons canola oil<\/li>\n<li>1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)<\/li>\n<li>3 cups coleslaw mix<\/li>\n<li>8 flour tortillas (6 inches), warmed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-directions__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch, water, barbecue sauce, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and salt until blended.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">In a large cast-iron or other heavy skillet, saute onion and red pepper in oil until crisp-tender, 2-3 minutes; remove and set aside.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">In the same skillet, cook beef over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, 5-7 minutes, breaking into crumbles; drain.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Stir cornstarch mixture and add to the skillet.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, 1-2 minutes.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Add coleslaw mix; stir to coat.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Spoon meat mixture into the center of each tortilla; top with onion mixture.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Roll up tightly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 class=\"listicle-page__title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tasteofhome.com\/recipes\/greek-sloppy-joes\/\" data-name=\"Greek Sloppy Joes\" data-module=\"content recirculation\" data-position=\"card title\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Greek Sloppy Joes<\/a><\/h3>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list recipe-ingredients__collection splitColumns\">\n<li>1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)<\/li>\n<li>1 small red onion, chopped<\/li>\n<li>2 garlic cloves, minced<\/li>\n<li>1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon dried oregano<\/li>\n<li>Romaine leaves<\/li>\n<li>6 kaiser rolls, split and toasted<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup crumbled feta cheese<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol class=\"recipe-directions__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">In a large skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic over medium heat until beef is no longer pink, 6-8 minutes; crumble beef; drain.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Stir in tomato sauce and oregano.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until sauce is slightly thickened, 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Place romaine on roll bottoms; top with meat mixture.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Sprinkle with feta cheese; replace tops.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 class=\"entry-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jawnsicooked.com\/dinner\/great-grandmas-sloppy-joe\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Old Fashioned Sloppy Joes<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>You have to post the OG sloppy Joe that we all ate growing up!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredients\">\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"0\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">lb<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">80\/20 ground beef*<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"1\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">small onion, chopped fine<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"2\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">medium green pepper, chopped fine<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"3\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">teaspoon<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">Worcestershire sauce<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"4\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">teaspoon<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">sugar<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"5\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">\u00bd<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">cup<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">ketchup<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"6\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">2<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">teaspoon<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">yellow mustard<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\" data-uid=\"7\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">tablespoon<\/span> <span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">canola oil<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-group\" data-slot-rendered-recipe=\"true\">\n<ol>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Saut\u00e9 onions and pepper in 1 tablespoon canola oil in a large frying pan over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, until they begin to soften.<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Move onions and peppers to outer edge of pan and increase heat to medium-high.<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Spread ground beef out in center of pan in an even layer and cook, undisturbed, for 5 minutes, or until meat begins to brown.<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Season beef with salt and pepper, and flip over. Continue to cook, breaking meat apart into small pieces as you go with a wooden spoon or spatula, until meat is cooked through and no longer pink, about 2-3 minutes.<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Reduce heat to medium-low and add in ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce and sugar. Cook 2-3 minutes until flavors are melded.<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Serve on burger buns, brioche buns or potato rolls.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>On The Menu<\/h3>\n<p>Enjoy your weekend full of football and perhaps some new fangled Sloppy Joes.
