It’s Championship November in college football. While teams are making their case to the selection committee for College Football Playoff and Bowl consideration, our Heisman contenders are doing the same with the voters. \u00a0Even with a new member in this week’s top five, we’ve begun to settle into. We’ll dive into that and more as we break down the contenders in our 2022 Week Nine Heisman rankings.<\/p>\n

Quarterbacks continue to lead the way, but do we have a big-time running back set to make a jump? How long can Stroud continue to hold off Hooker? With only a few games remaining, who has the opportunity to have that elusive Heisman moment? With that, let’s take a look as we unveil our 2022 Week Nine Heisman rankings.<\/p>\n

In nearly every measurable statistic Stroud leads Hooker, but Hooker has played a tougher schedule and now along with Tennessee takes his seat at the top. In a classic trap game, he played very well in throwing for three scores and running for another in a 44-6 domination of Kentucky. Now, in his toughest matchup of the year, Hooker must go between the hedges against Georgia on Saturday.<\/div>\n

Stroud and the Buckeyes were in a dogfight with the Nittany Lions for three quarters before the offense got it going. Still, it wasn’t enough to hold on to the top spot in this week’s rankings. Even though he threw for 354 yards, he was only able to throw one touchdown pass. The 1-7 Northwestern Wildcats come to town and Stroud should be able to pad some stats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corum continued to hold steady with a 177-yard and two-touchdown performance against Michigan State on Saturday. In a game that was overshadowed by the off-the-field activity, Corum continued to prove why he’s one of the most consistent players in the country. He will have two more games, at Rutgers and against Nebraska at home, before the Big 10’s best two teams face Michigan to end the regular season.<\/p>\n

It’s hard to believe the reigning Heisman winner has slipped all the way back to fourth place. However, coming off the bye week that’s exactly where he sits. Now, LSU awaits Young and the Crimson Tide in a top-10 matchup in Baton Rouge and Ole Miss awaits the following week. These next two weeks will determine whether or not Young can get back into the race and make a case for a back-to-back Heisman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duggan is one of the biggest feel-good stories of the season. After losing his starting job to start the season, Duggan replaced injured Chandler Morris<\/a> in the first game of the year and has not looked back. If you think this is a sympathy vote, then think again. His 26 total touchdowns are second to only Stroud as the most in the top five. Duggan has another favorable matchup as the Horned Frogs host the Red Raiders on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
