Place tomato slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"wprm-recipe-37074-step-0-1\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Sprinkle tomatoes with a pinch of salt and basil. Drizzle with olive oil.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"wprm-recipe-37074-step-0-2\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Bake tomatoes for 45 minutes. Once finished, set aside. (Note: roasting the tomatoes is optional, but DELICIOUS! If you have time, it&#8217;s worth it!)<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"wprm-recipe-37074-step-0-3\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">While tomatoes are roasting, make your fried egg. You can cook the egg however you like best; I chose sunny side up. Set aside.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"wprm-recipe-37074-step-0-4\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Combine sliced avocado, mayo, and garlic in a blender. Blend until well combined. If too thick, add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Set aside.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"wprm-recipe-37074-step-0-5\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">To assemble the sandwich, spread avocado mayo on the inside of each half of your toasted English muffin. Top the bottom half with 1 piece of lettuce, 2 slices of bacon, 3 slices of roasted tomatoes, 1 fried egg, and the top of the English muffin.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"wprm-recipe-37074-step-0-6\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Repeat with the additional English muffins.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This recipe is keyed for an at-home tailgate. \u00a0They could also be pre-assembled and warmed in tinfoil over a grill at an on-site tailgate party.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"article-heading_1-0\" class=\"comp type--lion article-heading mntl-text-block\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.southernliving.com\/recipes\/baked-blt-dip-recipe\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Baked BLT Dip Recipe<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 pound bacon<\/li>\n<li>2 pints of cherry tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>1 (8-oz.) pkg. cream cheese softened<\/li>\n<li>6 ounces Cheddar cheese, shredded (about 1 1\/2 cups)<\/li>\n<li>1 cup sour cream<\/li>\n<li>1 cup mayonnaise<\/li>\n<li>3 garlic cloves, finely chopped and mashed to a paste<\/li>\n<li>1 romaine lettuce heart, shredded<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice<\/li>\n<li>Crostini or toast points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instructions:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol id=\"mntl-sc-block_2-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block-group--OL mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-startgroup\">\n<li id=\"mntl-sc-block_2-0-1\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block-group--LI mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-startgroup\">\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_2-0-2\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Preheat the oven to 400\u00b0F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil, and fit with a wire rack. Arrange bacon slices in an even layer on the rack, and bake in preheated oven until crisp, 30 to 35 minutes. Cool bacon, reserving 1 tablespoon of bacon grease; chop bacon, and set aside.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"comp mntl-sc-block-group--LI mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-startgroup\">\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_2-0-2\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Toss tomatoes with reserved bacon grease. Spread on a rimmed baking sheet, and bake at 400\u00b0F oven until tomatoes burst, about 10 minutes. Let cool slightly. Reduce oven temperature to 350\u00b0F.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"mntl-sc-block_2-0-9\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block-group--LI mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-startgroup\">\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_2-0-10\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Combine cream cheese, Cheddar, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic, 1 cup of chopped bacon, and 1 cup of tomatoes in a large bowl; transfer to a 2-quart baking dish. Bake at 350\u00b0F until hot and bubbly, 15 to 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"comp mntl-sc-block-group--LI mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-startgroup\">\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_2-0-10\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Top with lettuce, remaining tomatoes, and remaining chopped bacon; drizzle with lemon juice.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"comp mntl-sc-block-group--LI mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-startgroup\">\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_2-0-10\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Serve with crostini or toast points.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 class=\"content-hed recipe-hed\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepioneerwoman.com\/food-cooking\/recipes\/a36068261\/blt-pasta-salad-recipe\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"\">BLT Pasta Salad<\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient-item\"><span class=\"ingredient-amount\">1 package of<\/span>\u00a0bacon &#8211; at least 12 ounces<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient-item\"><span class=\"ingredient-amount\">1\u00a0<\/span>16-oz. box fusilli or curly pasta<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient-item\"><span class=\"ingredient-amount\">1 cup\u00a0<\/span>mayonnaise<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient-item\"><span class=\"ingredient-amount\">3\/4 cup\u00a0<\/span>whole milk<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient-item\"><span class=\"ingredient-amount\">1\u00a0<\/span>1-oz. packet ranch seasoning mix<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient-item\">Juice of one lemon<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient-item\"><span class=\"ingredient-amount\">1\/4 cup of\u00a0<\/span>grated parmesan cheese<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient-item\"><span class=\"ingredient-amount\">1\/2 tsp.\u00a0<\/span>ground black pepper<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient-item\">1-pint grape tomatoes halved<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient-item\"><span class=\"ingredient-amount\">2 cups\u00a0<\/span>thinly sliced romaine lettuce<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient-item\"><span class=\"ingredient-amount\">1\/2 cup\u00a0<\/span>chopped red onion (optional)<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient-item\"><span class=\"ingredient-amount\">1\/4 cup\u00a0<\/span>chopped fresh herbs, such as dill and\/or parsley<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Instructions:\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<ol>\n<li>Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat, turning as needed, until the fat has rendered and the bacon is golden and crispy, 8 to 10 minutes. (You may need to cook the bacon in two batches, draining the rendered fat from the skillet between batches.)<\/li>\n<li>Let the bacon cool to room temperature, then crumble up into bite-sized pieces.<\/li>\n<li>Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain, rinse with cold water, and let cool.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, milk, ranch seasoning, lemon juice, parmesan cheese, and black pepper.<\/li>\n<li>Add the pasta, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, herbs, and half of the crumbled bacon to the bowl with the dressing. Or you can make them a day ahead and store them in the fridge until you\u2019re ready to serve at your tailgate.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"how-to-make-a-blt-wrap\">How to Make a BLT Wrap<\/h4>\n<ul id=\"block-7b05a827-ea8b-404b-af92-7ea1a2eac1d6\">\n<li><strong>Combine dressings. <\/strong>Mix the mayonnaise and ranch together.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Spread evenly. <\/strong>Using a spoon or spatula, spread this mixture onto both tortillas.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Assemble the BLT. <\/strong>Layer the cooked bacon, tomato slices, and lettuce in the middle of the tortilla.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Roll your BLT up. <\/strong>Roll the wrap tightly, and then serve it cold or at room temperature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 id=\"ingredient-notes\">Ingredient Notes:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Bacon<\/strong>\u2013 Make sure it\u2019s well cooked and crispy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vegan Bacon<\/strong> &#8211; in fact, there are several varieties of vegan bacon if you would like to go that route.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Flour tortillas<\/strong>\u2013 Be sure to use the burritos-sized ones for easier wrapping.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Make it low-carb and keto-friendly-<\/strong> All you\u2019ll need to do is substitute the tortilla for a lettuce wrap. Look for large leaves that are flexible enough to roll.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tomatoes<\/strong>\u2013 You can use anything from sliced Roma tomatoes to tiny cherry tomatoes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shredded iceberg lettuce<\/strong>\u2013 Whole leaves will work here, too<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mayonnaise<\/strong>\u2013 You can even omit this and use only ranch.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ranch dressing<\/strong>\u2013 This adds some tangy flavor outside the traditional mayonnaise-based BLT.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 id=\"addins-and-substitutions\">Add-ins and Substitutions:<\/h4>\n<ul id=\"block-026032a4-bb3b-40f8-a529-d848db34197a\">\n<li><strong>Add vegetables-<\/strong> Try this BLT wrap with some avocado for a more creamy texture and extra healthy fats and fiber. Or you can add crisp, fresh sprouts or onions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Substitute other meats-<\/strong> Instead of bacon (or in addition to), you can use ham or turkey.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Add more protein- <\/strong>You can make this with egg or hummus to make it more filling and double the protein.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use Sriracha<\/strong>\u2013 Add a little kick of spiciness to your BLT Wrap with a few drops of Sriracha either in the wrap or mixed into the dressing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>On The Menu<\/h3>\n<p>I hope those BLT season recipes will ultimately, make your tailgate tastier. \u00a0Next week we will tackle more football Friday tasty treats to kick your tailgate to the next level.
