Hello everyone and welcome to the Kentucky at Louisville Preview and SEC Predictions<\/strong> here at Last Word On College Football.<\/strong> Mark Stoops<\/a>‘<\/strong> club is bowl eligible for the first time since 2010 after beating Austin Peay<\/strong> last Saturday. However, in true Kentucky fashion, it wasn’t the easy rout most thought it would be.<\/p>\n

Johnson to the Rescue<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Going into the game it was a given\u00a0Luke Wright<\/a><\/strong> would get some playing time at quarterback. But as it turned out, he actually got the start. Stephen Johnson<\/a><\/strong> was suffering from an injured knee and the plan was to hold him out of the game\u00a0totally.<\/p>\n

However Wright struggled under center and the Governors<\/strong> jumped out to a 13-0 lead. This was an Austin Peay team that was 0-10 in FCS play. Needless to say, fans were anxious with the slow start. However, Johnson came off the bench and quickly led the Cats to 49 unanswered points.<\/p>\n

The 49-13 win gave Kentucky six wins for the first time since 2010. Benny Snell<\/strong> led the way, along with Johnson, with 152 yards and two touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Snell became the first freshman in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards. With one game remaining Snell and Boom<\/strong> Williams<\/strong> have combined for 2,078 yards, also a school record. That puts the duo in some exclusive company in SEC History.<\/p>\n

Battle of the Bluegrass<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Kentucky at Louisville- (NOON ESPN)-<\/strong> A number of story lines heading into the “Battle for the Governors Cup.” The Cardinals are coming off a 36- 10 loss to Houston<\/strong> that squashed their chances of a playoff spot.<\/p>\n

It will be interesting to see how Bobby Petrino’s<\/strong> club comes out on Saturday. Will they be totally deflated or come out angry to face their in-state rival?<\/p>\n

Kentucky receivers coach Lamar Thomas<\/a><\/strong> will now have experienced the rivalry from both sides. Jackson held the same title for Petrino’s staff for three years before moving up I-64 to join Stoops.<\/p>\n
