Did you save the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/collegefootball\/2021\/09\/03\/football-friday-tailgate-recipe-spinach-and-caramelized-onion-sliders\/\" target=\"_self\">spinach and caramelized onion sliders recipe<\/a>?\u00a0 This week we have a simple make-ahead crockpot meaty treat.\u00a0 It is one of my favorites go-to recipes.\u00a0 It is easy, tasty, and it travels well.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t remember where I first got this recipe.\u00a0 However, everyone I have made it for has loved it.\u00a0 I hope y&#8217;all enjoy it as well.<\/p>\n<h2>Football Friday Tailgate Recipe: Root Beer BBQ Pulled Pork<\/h2>\n<h3>Ingredients:<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list recipe-ingredients__collection splitColumns\">\n<li>1 boneless pork shoulder butt roast or tenderloin (3 to 4 pounds)<\/li>\n<li>Root Beer 1 can (12 ounces)<\/li>\n<li>1 bottle (18 ounces) of your favorite barbecue sauce<\/li>\n<li>12 Kings Hawaiian slider rolls, split<\/li>\n<li>Tony Catchers Creole Seasoning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"recipe-directions__heading\">Directions:<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"recipe-directions__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Place roast in a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Add root beer.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Sprinkle with Tony Catchers Creole Seasoning.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Cook, covered, on low until meat is tender, 8-10 hours.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Remove roast; cool slightly. Save 2 cups of cooking juices.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Shred pork with two forks; return to slow cooker.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Stir in barbecue sauce.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Cook, covered until heated through, about 30 minutes.<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-directions__item\">Serve on slider rolls or see options below.<\/li>\n<li>If it becomes too thick add the reserved cooking juices as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Why We Use Root Beer<\/h3>\n<p>Root beer is lightly acidic, and that acid breaks down the tough fibers in the meat, which tenderizes it. The sweetness of the soft drink complements the pork without adding a root beer flavor.<\/p>\n<h3>Serving Options:<\/h3>\n<p>Serve on a slider roll topped with crunchy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allrecipes.com\/recipe\/240784\/easy-coleslaw-dressing\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">coleslaw<\/a>.\u00a0 Also serves well on top of the coleslaw sans slider roll.<\/p>\n<h3>On The Menu<\/h3>\n<p>Up next week we have a variety of dips.
