The Florida Gators had another dominating win as they routed the Arkansas Razorbacks 63-35. Redshirt-senior quarterback Kyle Trask<\/a> had another terrific game against the second-ranked passing defense in the SEC.<\/p>\n

The Florida offense was without its star tight end, Kyle Pitts<\/a>, who was out with an injury. The Gators were still able to light up the scoreboard and one of the backup tight ends stepped up and a big game in the Swamp.<\/p>\n

It was also the return of Feleipe Franks<\/a> in the Swamp and Franks led the Arkansas Razorbacks without their head coach. Franks played well in the blowout loss but his defense couldn\u2019t contain the potent Florida offense.<\/p>\n

Florida Gators Route Arkansas Razorbacks<\/h2>\n

Arkansas Razorbacks<\/h3>\n

The Arkansas Razorbacks had a rough night in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium as they lost to the Florida Gators 63-35. The Razorbacks offense had a solid performance but their defense had their worst performance of the season.<\/p>\n

Franks returned to the Swamp Saturday night but as a visitor. He was the starting quarterback at Florida from 2017-2019 before suffering a season-ending injury against Kentucky. With the emergence of Trask, Franks transferred to Arkansas and immediately became their starter.<\/p>\n

Franks played well against his former team. He completed 15 out of 19 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Franks also rushed for 12 yards on six carries.<\/p>\n

The lead rusher for the Razorbacks during their loss to the Gators was Trelon Smith<\/a>. The former Arizona State running back had eight carries and rushed for 118 yards including an 83-yard rushing touchdown. Senior running back Rakeem Boyd<\/a> also rushed for 56 yards on 12 carries and a score.<\/p>\n

Junior wide receiver Mike Woods<\/a> was the lead receiver for the Razorbacks. Woods had two receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Treylon Burks<\/a> also had three catches for 47 yards.<\/p>\n

On defense, Arkansas had its worst performance of the 2020 season. The Razorbacks allowed 593 total yards of offense and eight touchdowns. They also allowed 385 passing yards in the game after averaging 222.2 allowed passing yards per game this season.<\/p>\n

Linebacker Grant Morgan<\/a> led the Razorbacks in tackles with 15 including seven solo tackles. Eric Gregory<\/a> had the only sack in the game for the Razorbacks. He sacked Trask in the first drive of the second half.<\/p>\n

Florida Gators<\/h3>\n

The Florida Gators continue to roll after another impressive performance by their offense. Trask continues to make a case for the Heisman Trophy, completing 23 out of 29 passes for 365 yards and six touchdowns. He became the first quarterback in SEC history to throw four or more touchdowns in the first six games of their season.<\/p>\n

The Florida rushing attack had its best game of the season with 208 rushing yards. Junior Dameon Pierce<\/a> led the Gators in rushing. Pierce had 69 yards on 12 carries. Redshirt-sophomore quarterback Emory Jones<\/a> had the only rushing touchdown on the night.<\/p>\n

The Gators’ offense was without their top pass-catcher but had multiple receivers step up and make plays. Trevon Grimes<\/a> led the Gators in receiving with six receptions for 109 yards and two touchdowns. True freshman Xzavier Henderson<\/a> had three catches for 62 yards and his first career touchdown.<\/p>\n

Sophomore tight end Keon Zipperer<\/a> had a great game with Pitts sidelined. The Lakeland native had three receptions for 47 yards and two touchdowns. Jacob Copeland<\/a> had his first touchdown of the season and Justin Shorter<\/a> scored another touchdown in three straight games.<\/p>\n

The Florida defense had its ups and down against its former quarterback. The unit gave up 458 yards of offense, however, 212 yards came on three plays. The Gators did have their first defensive touchdown on the season. Zachary Carter<\/a> had a 35-yard scoop and score.<\/p>\n

Sophomore linebacker Amari Burney<\/a> led the Gators in tackles with seven, including three solos, two-and-a-half tackles for loss, and a sack. The Gators also had four sacks on the night.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s next?<\/h3>\n

The Florida Gators will be on the road next Saturday against the Vanderbilt Commodores. It\u2019s been a very difficult year for Vanderbilt who is currently sitting at a 0-6 record. They are coming off a 38-35 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats<\/a>. You can watch this game on Saturday at noon. The game will either be broadcasted on ESPN or the SEC Network.<\/p>\n
