Do you need more evidence of how crazy this 2020 college football season is? Would you have ever thought that the American Athletic Conference would have four times as many players ranked in the Heisman rankings than the SEC? Well, that’s exactly what we have this week. And, the wacky thing is, nobody would be that surprised. Now, that could all change as the SEC season begins on Saturday. Additionally, we could see some more changes in a few weeks when the Big 10 action begins. Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s look at our week two 2020 Heisman rankings.<\/p>\n

A majority of the Big 12 was off on week two so Spencer Rattler<\/a><\/strong> and Sam Ehlinger<\/a><\/strong> did not have an opportunity to impress our pollsters. However, with Oklahoma State struggling against Tulsa, how would that impact Chuba Hubbard<\/a><\/strong>? Will his performance along with the impressive play of D’Eriq King<\/a><\/strong> be enough to shake up our top five? Now, let’s unveil our week one 2020 Heisman rankings.<\/p>\n

Lawrence took a stroll in his home park on Saturday. In a game where he barely broke a sweat, he accounted for five first-half touchdowns in a 49-0 victory. He was nearly perfect with only one incompletion in his half of play and also ran for a couple of scores. The Tigers are off on Saturday before hosting Virginia in the home conference opener.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his first start in an Oklahoma uniform, Rattler looked the part of his predecessors. He threw for nearly 300 yards in the first half of the Sooners dismantling of FCS Missouri State. Rattler only had three incompletions with two of those being drops. The Sooners slate gets tougher as they host Kansas State on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Because of the nature of the game and the score, Etienne didn’t have a huge opportunity to make an impact on the game. With that being said, he did have 68 yards on eight carries. Additionally, he had one catch for 11 yards out of the backfield. After a week off, the Tigers and Etienne will be in for a much tougher battle against the Cavaliers.<\/p>\n

King has Hurricane fans happy about college football once again. After just an average looking start against UAB, King was spectacular against Louisville on Saturday night. He threw for 325 yards and three touchdowns as Miami lit Louisville up for 47 points. King and the Canes will have to guard against overconfidence now as they face Florida State on Saturday night. Ranking 12th nationally as a team, fourth in the Heisman, it will be interesting how they are able to handle success.<\/p>\n

Statistically, Ehlinger had the best showing at the quarterback position with 426 yards and five touchdowns against UTEP. The Texas offense must be foaming at the mouth at the opportunity against Texas Tech this weekend. The Red Raiders gave up over 500 yards through the air to Houston Baptist in their first game of the season. Ehlinger should be in for another big day.<\/p>\n
