This week will provide yet more clarity from coast to coast.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DK\u2019s 2016 Week 8 CFB Game Picks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All game times in Eastern Daylight Time.<\/p>\n<p>Last Week: \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a07-3 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0(.700)<\/p>\n<p>2016 Season: 45-25 (.643)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wisconsin @ Iowa (Saturday, October 22<\/strong><strong><sup>nd<\/sup><\/strong><strong>, 12:00 p.m., ESPN)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bucky<\/strong> took <strong>Michigan<\/strong> and <strong>Ohio State<\/strong> to the wire in consecutive weeks. The Badgers mean business this season. This week they take their show on the road to take on <strong>Kirk Ferentz\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>Hawkeyes<\/strong>. Iowa is tough this season, once again. Wisconsin brings the better team to this game, and will get the win.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Wisconsin 31, Iowa 17<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>North Carolina @ Virginia (Saturday, October 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, 3:00 p.m., ACCN)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Virginia will keep this game closer-than-you-think behind QB <strong>Kurt Benkert<\/strong>. The <strong>Cavaliers\u2019<\/strong> anemic run game will allow the <strong>Tarheels<\/strong> to key on the passing game and slow it down just enough. <strong>UNC<\/strong> will pick up an important road win in conference.<\/p>\n<p>Pick:\u00a0North Carolina 31, Virginia 20<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong><em>\u201cUpset\u201d Special of the Week<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Texas A&amp;M @ Alabama (Saturday, October 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, 3:30 p.m., CBS)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Just kidding. Alabama has been destroying teams all season. The <strong>Crimson Tide<\/strong> will do so again on Saturday. Texas A&amp;M is having a surprisingly strong season, and may yet land a <strong>New Year\u2019s Six<\/strong> bowl bid, but <strong>Nick Saban\u2019s<\/strong> squad will roll on this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Alabama 38, Texas A&amp;M 10<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memphis @ Navy (Saturday, October 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, 3:30 p.m., CBSSN)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Navy owns one of the best wins in the nation this season when it knocked off highly-ranked <strong>Houston<\/strong> a couple of weeks ago. Inexplicably, Memphis is favored on the road against <strong>Ken Niumatololo\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>Midshipmen<\/strong>. Navy leads the <strong>AAC West<\/strong> division (equally inexplicable, right? How is <strong>Annapolis, MD<\/strong> in the West Division of the <strong>American Athletic Conference<\/strong>?), and will continue to do so. Navy\u2019s 13<sup>th<\/sup> ranked rushing offense will grind out the win, and make it harder for Houston&#8217;s road back to a <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordoncollegefootball.com\/2016\/10\/20\/lwos-bowl-projections-week-7\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New Year&#8217;s Six bowl game<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Navy 28, Memphis 20<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>TCU @ West Virginia (Saturday, October 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, 3:30 p.m., ABC\/ESPN2)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This column has picked against the<strong> E\u2019ers <\/strong>more than once this season, with disastrous results. \u00a0What did <strong>Einstein<\/strong> say that the definition of insanity is? Oh, yeah. Let\u2019s not do that, then. West Virginia will get the win at home.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: West Virginia 45, TCU 35<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><em>Be Careful Here Game of the Week<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Utah @ UCLA (Saturday, October 22<\/strong><strong><sup>nd<\/sup><\/strong><strong>, 4:00 p.m., Fox)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Utah plays the \u2018Be Careful Here\u2019 game for the third straight week. Last week, the <strong>Utes<\/strong> actually paid attention to the admonition, and eked out a win in <strong>Corvalis<\/strong> over <strong>Oregon State<\/strong>. UCLA has played selectively well this season, but Utah is legit. The <strong>Utes<\/strong> will win, thereby claiming the inside track to the <strong>Pac-12 South<\/strong> title.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Utah 28, UCLA 19<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Oklahoma @ Texas Tech (Saturday, October 22<\/strong><strong><sup>nd<\/sup><\/strong><strong>, 8:00 p.m., Fox)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Sooners handled <strong>Kansas State<\/strong> last week, and still sit atop the Big XII conference. Big showdown games with Baylor and West Virginia loom in the distance, but the Red Raiders will not be able to slow <strong>OU\u2019s<\/strong> momentum.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Oklahoma 48, Texas Tech 35<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong><em>\u201cFlip A Coin\u201d Game of the Week<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Mississippi @ LSU (Saturday, October 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, 9:00 p.m., ESPN)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both teams have under-delivered this season, and one of them will fall completely from conference relevance at the conclusion of this game. <strong>Ole Miss<\/strong> and <strong>Chad Kelly<\/strong> aim to do it through the air, while LSU (with or without <strong>Leonard Fournette<\/strong>) will work to do it on the ground. <strong>Interim Head Coach<\/strong> (and professional <strong>Offensive Line Coach<\/strong>) <strong>Ed Orgeron<\/strong> will use the ground and pound approach to get a critical win at home.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: LSU 28, Mississippi 17<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Colorado @ Stanford (Saturday, October 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, 3:00 p.m.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Buffaloes <\/strong>visit Stanford Stadium tied for 1<sup>st<\/sup> place in the Pac-12 South. <strong>Mike MacIntyre<\/strong> has succeeded in rebuilding Colorado, and the team is on the brink of a major breakthrough. The <strong>Cardinal<\/strong> got a much needed win on the road in <strong>South Bend<\/strong> in Week 7, signaling that it may not be ready to roll over and pack it in for the season. It\u2019s <strong>Homecoming<\/strong> on <strong>The Farm<\/strong>, and <strong>David Shaw\u2019s<\/strong> young team will find a way. Stanford will get the win.<\/p>\n<p>Pick: Stanford 24, Colorado 21<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arkansas @ Auburn (Saturday, October 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, 6:00 p.m., ESPN)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Auburn enters this game ranked, with Arkansas also playing well. Each team has lost twice, both times to ranked teams. Arkansas is big and physical, but Auburn is at home. QB <strong>Sean White<\/strong> needs to play well for the <strong>Tigers<\/strong>.
