When you lose seven in a row against your permanent SEC West opponent, that puts you in a real bind in trying to make a bowl game.

However, this is not the same Mississippi State team we have seen in years past. They are coming into the game on a two game losing streak and have lost three out of four overall.

In order to win this contest, the Cats must stop quarterback Nick Fitzgerald. The sophomore trails only Trevor Knight in rushing yards by a quarterback.
