For the second straight weekend, there was a shocking upset that impacted the 2019 College Football season and the Heisman Race. Jalen Hurts<\/a><\/strong> Heisman candidacy took a hit with the Sooners upset in Manhattan. Also, for the first time in nearly a month, we have new entries in this weeks rankings. Let’s see how madness impacted our week nine 2019 Heisman rankings.<\/p>\n

Joe Burrow<\/a><\/strong> had another solid performance for LSU and has taken the first substantial lead of the season? But, with the Sooners loss and the Ohio State defense bottling up Jonathan Taylor<\/a><\/strong>, that opened the door. We may have some surprises in store this week. Let’s take a look at our fresh new rankings as we unveil our week nine 2019 Heisman rankings.<\/p>\n

Burrow took advantage of his opportunities in the Tigers 23-20 win over Auburn on Saturday. He had his lowest output on the season in terms of touchdowns through the air with just one. However, he continued his efficient season in completing 32 of 42 passes. Burrow has still completed an incredible 79% of his passes this season. The Tigers have the week off before the game of the year against Alabama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fields is an interesting story this season for the Buckeyes. His statistics are not on the same level as his counterparts. But, he has just one interception. Is Fields changing the mode to more of a game manager at Ohio State this season? With how well the defense is playing and the running game going strong that may be all they need Fields to be.<\/p>\n

How quickly things change. Hurts was the leader for the Heisman and the Sooners were in firm control of their own destiny. Now, both are in a precarious position. However, Hurts did everything he could to keep the Sooners in the game with nearly 500 yards of total offense and four touchdowns with no turnovers. Oklahoma has the weekend off before hosting Iowa State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Someone stop the presses. It’s 2019 and we have a defensive player in the top five of the Heisman rankings. This one is legitimate, folks. Young has been a terror for opposing offenses this year with 13.5 sacks on the season. Perhaps it’s quite appropriate that he replace Taylor in this spot partly because of his dominant play with six tackles and four sacks against the Badgers.<\/p>\n
