Ryan Day<\/strong><\/a> has officially announced his starting quarterback. Justin Fields<\/a><\/strong> will take the field against the Florida Atlantic Owls in the first start of his college career. Fields a transfer from Georgia where he saw limited playing time as a freshman behind Jake Fromm<\/a><\/strong>. In his press conference Day said Fields separated himself from the other quarterbacks in the past week adding \u201cI still don\u2019t think he\u2019s where he needs to be, but over the past week, I think he\u2019s played at a starter level.\u201d<\/p>\n A former five-star recruit, one of the highest-rated in Ohio State history, Fields was mostly used as a runner at Georgia. But when he did throw, he did it well going 27-39 for 328 yards and four touchdowns. In the spring game<\/a> though Fields struggled at times completing just four passes on 13 attempts. One of those completions went for a 98-yard touchdown showing just how electric Fields can be. Fields had only been on campus for a short period of time for the spring game.
