Mother Nature cast her vote this week, with Hurricane Matthew<\/strong> wreaking havoc across the southeast. Several games, including Houston<\/strong> vs. Navy<\/strong> and Notre Dame<\/strong> vs. N.C. State<\/strong> were severely impacted by the weather. And, of course, the controversial decision by Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley<\/strong> to cancel the LSU<\/strong> vs. Florida<\/strong> game, and the equally controversial decision by SEC<\/strong> Commissioner Greg Sankey<\/strong> to allow this course of action.<\/p>\n

But the weather wasn’t the only drama this weekend. Houston’s loss to Navy dashed the hopes of a Group-of-Five\u00a0team crashing the College Football Playoffs<\/strong>. Texas A&M<\/strong> was finally able to fend off another 21-point, second half comeback from Tennessee<\/strong> in a classic Top 10 match up in College Station<\/strong>. And imagine this: the kicking game making a difference in the FSU<\/strong> vs. Miami<\/strong> game. FSU’s block of Miami PAT with less than two minutes to play seals their own come-from-behind win in Miami. Washington<\/strong> exerts its dominance in the Pac-12<\/strong> with a thrashing of Oregon<\/strong>. Meanwhile, the steep dive continues in Palo Alto, as Stanford was crushed by Washington State<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Last Word on College Football Top 25: Week 6<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Our top four\u00a0remains\u00a0unchanged, with Houston falling from fifth to 13th after their loss to Navy. Washington and Texas A&M made moves up with their impressive wins, and Wisconsin<\/strong>, Nebraska<\/strong>, and Baylor<\/strong> (all on byes) moved up due to losses of the teams in front of them to round out the Top 10.<\/p>\n

The next five are mostly teams coming off tough losses this week. Tennessee’s overtime loss drops the Vols to eleventh, followed by Ole Miss<\/strong> (bye), Houston, Boise State<\/strong> and Miami. Only Boise State is coming off a win. Florida State’s win moves them to sixteen, followed by newcomer Virginia Tech<\/strong>, Florida, a still-undefeated West Virginia<\/strong>, and Red River Rivalry winner Oklahoma<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The last five include Utah<\/strong>, Auburn<\/strong>, Western Michigan<\/strong>, Arkansas<\/strong> and LSU.<\/p>\n

Week 7 sees several teams back in action, with Ohio State and Wisconsin expected to be the highlight of the weekend. And while there won’t be as many Top 25 match ups as the previous two weeks, everyone knows that every college football weekend has plenty of excitement.<\/p>\n
