Following Friday&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosoncfb.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2018\/11\/24\/rockets-blast-central-michigan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">51-13 loss to the\u00a0Toledo Rockets<\/a><strong>,<\/strong> the\u00a0Central Michigan Chippewas have fired the head man after just four seasons.<\/p>\n<p>2018 marked the worst season on record for the Chippewas as they finished 1-11 and 0-8 in the Mid-American Conference.<\/p>\n<p>Bonamego played at Central Michigan as a quarterback and wide receiver graduating in 1987. He said that leading the Chippewas was his dream job upon his departure from Mount Pleasant, Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>Once he graduated, he moved throughout the college ranks with stops at Maine, Lehigh, and Army as an assistant coach.<\/p>\n<p>Next, he moved on to coach in the National Football League as a special teams coordinator for 16 years. He made stops in Jacksonville, Green Bay, New Orleans, and Detroit.<\/p>\n<p>Bonamego leaves Central Michigan with a 22-29 record in four seasons with the Chippewas.
