If you were watching closely, you probably noticed four-star recruit Brevin Jordan. Jordan, who caught three balls for 71 yards, leading the stat sheet for Team Highlight. One of his catches being good for 48 yards making five defensive players miss before finally being taken down. The first thing that many people thought was ‘This kid’s a Tight End?’ Jordan certainly doesn’t look or move like one. Standing at 6’3, 230 pounds you don’t usually see a guy of Jordan’s size have that kind of elusiveness. It isn’t something that programs come by every day.

Brevin Jordan Flashes Greatness

Watching him Thursday night you can’t help but be reminded of former Hurricane tight end, David Njoku. Watching his highlights at Miami you can definitely see similarities in their ability to make defenders miss and sheer athletic talent. Jordan, a Miami signee, won’t be new to the spotlight at the next level. He’s coming out of a national high school powerhouse, Bishop Gorman. Playing for a storied program like Miami should be like hopping back on the bike.

Two top ranked Tight Ends could give teams nightmares.

Signing Brevin Jordan looks to be somewhat of a blessing. This past season the Hurricane defense definitely took on more of the load. Their offense could use a playmaker like Jordan, who, from the looks of it could come in and start out of the gate. But pairing him with Will Mallory, another signee that’s a top ten recruit at his position could give teams in college football matchup nightmares down the road. Both are speedy tight ends and both stand over 6’3″. Coach Mark Richt could have quite the arsenal if these two guys can be his one two punch right out of the gate.

Quarterback Malik Rosier should be ecstatic about having a tight end that can move the way Jordan moves. Having a target like Jordan could benefit this offense from day one. Rosier had a lot of head scratching instances this year. Moments where you asked yourself: ‘What did he see there?’ and ‘Why would he make that throw?’ He most certainly had his shaky moments this season. But having an option like Jordan to throw to could minimize those head scratching instances.

This could just be the heat of the moment thing. Jumping the gun. But something about Brevin Jordan tells people that he’s going to be a star in Miami Gardens for years to come.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

Brevin Jordan had an outstanding conclusion to his prep career by shining at the Under Armour All-American Game.
