The early signing period for the Oklahoma Sooners<\/strong> is getting off to a tremendous start. In Lincoln Riley’s first season as head\u00a0coach, he has the Sooners with a consensus top 10 recruiting class for 2018. Pledger<\/strong> just adds to that. Pledger is a 5-8 190 pound running back, ranked #3 in the country as an all-purpose\u00a0running back by 247Sports.<\/p>\n Pledger is out of the historic IMG Academy<\/strong> in Bradenton, Florida. He is coming off of a monster year in which he ran for 1,881 yards with 10 touchdowns.<\/p>\n Oklahoma has had Pledger locked up for quite some time. He verbally committed to the\u00a0Sooner in March. The Sooners beat out Nebraska<\/strong>, USC<\/strong>, and UCLA<\/strong> for his services. He took some interest from UCLA after the coaching change but has remained solid to the Sooners.<\/p>\n There is a logjam at the running back position in 2018 for the Sooners. Oklahoma will return Rodney Anderson<\/a>, Abdul Adams<\/a>, Trey Sermon<\/a>, and Marcelias Sutton<\/a> to the fold next year.
