Sooners Sign Kendall Dennis

Oklahoma Offensive Line

The Oklahoma Sooners have officially signed Kendall Dennis, a 6-foot-0, 174-pound defensive back out of Lakeland, Florida. Dennis is a four-star recruit, per the 247Sports composite. He has offers from Florida State, Nebraska, Clemson, and Miami.

Ellison comes in as the 29th ranked defensive back in the country. In fact, Dennis made his decision live today on ESPNU with his pick of the Sooners.

Dennis is electric with the ball in his hands. In fact, he could get playing time as a punt returner as early as next year with the expected departure of CeeDee Lamb. Dennis had a high volume of pass breakups and interceptions in his senior season which could transition him to immediate playing time as a true freshman.

Oklahoma has not had the type of depth that defensive coordinator Alex Grinch would have preferred in his first year in Norman. The signing of Dennis along with several other blue-chip cornerbacks signifies that the depth could be there in 2020.
