Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed their top-ranked commit. Four-star defensive tackle Gervon Dexter has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a huge signing for Florida as Dexter has the potential to be an elite college football player in the future. Mullen loves Dexter’s skill set as he’s a perfect fit and can make a big impact on the Florida defense. Dexter is one of four defensive tackles to sign with the Gators with Lamar Goods, Jalen Lee, and Johnnie Brown.
Who is Gervon Dexter?
Dexter is a four-star defensive tackle out of Lakes Wales High School in Lakes Wales, Florida. He is considered one of the top defensive recruits in the country. He was a huge get for the Gators as he was committed for over a year and was recruited by most top schools. Dexter signed with Florida over Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Miami, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
On 247 Sports, Dexter is the 25th ranked recruit and the third-ranked defensive end in the country. On ESPN, Dexter is the 43rd ranked recruit and the fifth-ranked defensive tackle in the country. The Gators have added a top defensive lineman who could really make an impact in the future. Dexter will play in the Under Armour All-American Game. Dexter will enroll at Florida after the school year and he could get some immediate playing time as a freshman.
