Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top defensive targets. Four-star cornerback Ethan Pouncey has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a huge signing for Florida as Pouncey is a top ten ranked cornerback. His brother, Jordan Pouncey, is a Texas transfer who’ll also be heading to Florida. Gators head coach Dan Mullen likes his skill set as he’s a perfect fit and can really make a huge impact on the Florida Gators defense in the future. Pouncey is the fourth cornerback to sign with the Gators with Jahari Rogers, Fenley Graham and Avery Helm.
Who Is Ethan Pouncey?
Ethan Pouncey is a four-star cornerback out of Winter Park High School in Winter Park, Florida. The newest Florida signee is one of the top cornerbacks in the country. He was a tough get for the Gators as Pouncey was previously committed to the Texas Longhorns. Pouncey signed with Florida over Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Stanford and Texas.
On 247Sports, Pouncey is the 91st ranked recruit and the seventh ranked cornerback in the country. On ESPN, Pouncey is the 113th ranked recruit and the tenth ranked cornerback in the country. The Gators have added an elite cornerback who could really make an impact in the future. Being an early enrollee, Pouncey will have more time to develop and learn Florida’s playbook than most high school recruits. Ethan Pouncey will also play in the Under Armour All-American Game.
