Late Commit Adisa Isaac Signs With Penn State

Late commit Adisa Isaac signs with Penn State after waiting to choose his destination until two days before early signing day. Nittany Lions’ fans got an overdue “We Are…better” tweet from head coach James Franklin shortly after 12:00pm on Monday. The four-star defensive end out of Brooklyn, NY made his commitment on Twitter with a video. Before his commitment he tweeted it was between Penn State and the University of Miami. Texas A&M and Alabama were among the other schools that caught the 6 ft. 5 in. senior’s attention. Former Penn State assistant Josh Gattis recruited Isaac for Alabama.

Adisa Isaac will join Shareef Miller, Shaka Toney, Yetur Gross-Matos, and Jayson Oweh at the defensive end position in 2019. Defensive line coach Sean Spencer will gain yet another four star recruit at the position for the third straight season. Spencer has turned the defensive line into a strength of the Penn State defense over that last several seasons. The four named above amassed 22 sacks this season. Further, the four mentioned above combined for 43 tackles for loss in the 2018 season.

Isaac is the number one player out of New York. He weighs in at 220 pounds and has a 29.6 inch vertical jump. He is the third ranked recruit for Penn State behind five star linebacker Brandon Smith and four star offensive lineman Caedan Wallace. Spencer will get another hard hitter at the position, Isaac had a New York City leading 22 sacks and 34 tackles for loss his senior season. Further, the Brooklyn native finished with 77 tackles in 2018.  Isaac will likely enroll early in January where he will have the ability to learn from Miller, Toney, Gross-Matos, Oweh, and Nick Tarburton. Even if Shareef Miller makes the decision to enter the NFL draft early, there is plenty of talent for Isaac to make the most of.
