Miami Adds Four Star Defensive End Jahfari Harvey
The Hurricanes are adding more speed to it’s defense with the addition of Harvey. At 6-4, 225 pounds Harvey possesses a lean frame. However the weakside defensive end will be enrolling into Miami in January and will quickly add weight. With Joe Jackson potentially forgoing his senior season for the NFL, Harvey may play early.
The Hurricanes will still return rising junior Jonathan Garvin and the staff views Harvey in the same mold. Ironically, Miami was one of the first schools to offer Harvey much like the recruitment of Garvin. Once committing to Miami several schools began taking interest in Harvey. Schools like Oregon, Mississippi State, Georgia and Michigan all have sent offers. He had 21 offers in all.
The 247Sports composite rankings list him as the 14th best weakside defensive end recruit in the country. The 247 stand alone rankings have him at #11.
