Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top offensive commits. Four-star offensive tackle and Florida commit Wardrick Wilson has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a big signing for the Gators as they have kept him committed since the Jim McElwain era. Mullen likes Wilson’s skillset as he’s a perfect fit and can really make a huge impact on the Florida Gators offense in the future. This is the sixth OT Mullen has signed in his first two recruiting classes at the University of Florida. Wardrick Wilson is the third offensive tackle signee this class with Michael Tarquin and William Harrod.
Who is Wardrick Wilson?
Wardrick Wilson is a four-star offensive tackle out of Miami Carol City High School in Carol City, Florida. The Florida offensive tackle commit is one of the top offensive tackles in the country. He was a tough get for the Gators as Florida had to some of the top SEC programs. He really took off in recruiting once he made his commitment to Florida on campus. Wilson signed with Florida over Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Nebraska, South Florida and Tennessee.
On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Wilson is the 308th ranked recruit and the 18th ranked offensive guard in the country. On Rivals, Wilson is the 55th ranked recruit out of Florida and the 37th ranked offensive tackle in the country. The Gators have added a really solid offensive tackle who could really make an impact in the future. Being an early enrollee, Wilson will get to Florida in January and learn the playbook quickly. Wilson will be competing for the starting offensive tackle job as Florida might lose both of their starting OTs.
