Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top defensive commits. Four-star defensive tackle and Florida commit Jaelin Humphries has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a big signing for Florida as they have kept him committed with Georgia trying to flip him. Mullen likes Humphries’ skillset as he’s a perfect fit and can really make a huge impact on the Florida Gators offense in the future. This is the first DT Mullen has signed in his first two recruiting classes at the University of Florida. Humphries is currently the only defensive tackle signed in the class.
Who is Jaelin Humphries?
Jaelin Humphries is a four-star defensive tackle out of Mountain View High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The Florida defensive tackle commit is one of the top defensive tackles in the country. He was a tough get for the Gators as Florida had to some of the top SEC programs. Humphries really took off in recruiting once he started getting offered by some of the programs in the SEC. Humphries signed with Florida over Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Nebraska, South Carolina and Tennessee.
On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Humphries is the 272nd ranked recruit and the 17th ranked defensive tackle in the country. On ESPN, Humphries is the 224th ranked recruit and the 16th ranked defensive tackle in the country. The Gators have added a really solid defensive tackle who could really make an impact in the future. Being an early signee, Humphries is currently locked in with the Florida Gators 2019 recruiting class.
