The Miami Hurricanes seem to have locked up a top five recruiting class. The incoming recruits that are scheduled to sign early have cemented that momentum. Much of the class will either be signing early. Many have announced they are enrolling into Miami early to begin courses and participate in spring football.
Gilbert Frierson Inks With Miami
It’s been almost two years since Gilbert Frierson has been committed to Miami so it’s no secret what his decision would be. The Coral Gables product is the younger cousin of former Miami Hurricane Frank Gore. He made it official by signing with Miami during the new Early Signing Day period.
Miami Gets Versatility in Frierson
At six foot one inches, Miami lands a versatile defensive back that was ranked as a top 250 prospect in the nation. With his size and speed, he allows Miami to either use him as a lengthy cornerback or a safety that can patrol the middle of the field. An added benefit is the fact that Frierson will be enrolling early into Miami in just a matter of weeks.
There were talks during the recruiting process that Frierson could possibly land elsewhere. He did take visits to Georgia and Kentucky. However that was far from the case. Miami has only five cornerbacks on the roster this season, so look for Frierson to possibly add depth to that position in spring practice.
