LSU has landed a commitment from another four-star quarterback. Lowell Narcisse, the top-rated quarterback in the state of Louisiana, has committed to his home-state Tigers. This is a nice addition to the already loaded position that LSU has for 2017. With Narcisse, he is a dual-threat quarterback who can hurt opponents with his slinging arm and his legs. Coming out of St. James High School in Saint James, Louisiana, Narcisse is a player that the Tigers have been waiting to show off for a long time. He has the dual-threat ability that you don’t see a lot from LSU quarterbacks. He can be the best dual-threat in LSU history if he learns the system quickly.
Narcisse will be in camp fighting for a starting role with Myles Brennan and Brandon Harris. This season’s position battle at quarterback in Baton Rouge will be one of the best anyone has ever seen. All three of the guys listed above will work their hardest to earn that starting spot, and ultimately it will come down to Narcisse and Brennan.
Coming out of high school, Narcisse piled up 5,433 total passing yards with 64 touchdowns. In his rushing game, he finished his career with 404 carries with 2,344 yards and 34 touchdowns. He can take some rushing pressure off of Derrius Guice if he starts right away.
How Narcisse will fit into LSU’s system:
Narcisse has the ability to run, which is a major plus for him being at LSU. For him to fit into this system and see playing time, he will have to battle it out and ultimately win the starting job at quarterback. The Tigers have Myles Brennan as well, who is a pro-style QB. LSU has been waiting for both of these players for a long time, and everyone is excited about who will be the starter. If Narcisse starts, he will have to shred some monstrous SEC defenses in his passing and rushing game. Just like Brennan, Narcisse fits perfectly into this system and can be a reliable playmaker.
