Toronto Argonauts @ Montreal Alouettes:
If McLeod Bethel-Thompson were playing the full 60, the Argos would be a nice upset pick. Montreal can’t move in the standings and Bethel-Thompson’s Argos shredded the Als defence for 438 passing yards earlier this season. Dakota Prukop and Michael O’Connor are expected to see some snaps under centre, making Toronto’s chances of winning slim. Both teams are slow starters, but Toronto’s slightly outscored Montreal in first halfs this season, and 18 of their last 23 games have gone under. Toronto starts hot but fade out. Als by 10.
Toronto 17 Montreal 27
Best bet: TOR first half +6.5

Saskatchewan Roughriders @ B.C. Lions:
No Mike Reilly for the Lions changes everything. Saskatchewan is still battling for a first-round bye, while B.C. is eliminated and decimated with key injuries. B.C.’s defence has quietly climbed to the upper half of a bunch of team statistics, but there’s a serious concern to how many points Danny O’Brien can score, or how long he can keep Cody Fajardo’s offence off the field. The Riders beat B.C. by 27 at BC Place and with Reilly and they’re 5-0 against the spread in the last five games against the Lions. Simple pick here, Riders by 16.
Saskatchewan 28 B.C. 12
Best bet: SSK -3.5 (-7 now)

Ottawa Redblacks @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats:
Will Ardnt looked adequate for Ottawa last week although it was against a league-worst Argos defence. Now Ardnt’s going into a building where Hamilton hasn’t lost at this season. The Redblacks are the league’s lowest-scoring team and the Ti-Cats are the best defensive team in terms of points against. But be careful as there’s potential for garbage time points after Dane Evans’ offence dominates early. The Redblacks have actually beat the Ti-Cats in the last five games at Tim Hortons Field, but that streak ends Saturday. Hamilton by 20.
Ottawa 15 Hamilton 35
Best bet: HAM first half -10

Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Calgary Stampeders:
Winnipeg committed to running the ball when closing out a game earlier this season versus Calgary. Difference is, Bo Levi Mitchell will be slinging the ball for the Stamps, and Mitchell owns the Bombers. Winnipeg’s the league’s best running team while Calgary’s second-best against the run, making for a key matchup. The Stamps feast on turnovers too, scoring 110 points off them in 2019. Chris Streveler’s yet to show an ability to take care of the ball or win important road games. Oh, and Calgary at home in October = great. Stamps by 17.
Winnipeg 16 Calgary 33
Best bet: CGY -7
