CFL Fantasy Picks Week 6: DraftKings, TSN

cfl fantasy

Here we go rolling into Week 6. Some of the higher-priced guys like Jerimiah Masoli and Brandon Banks are absent from this slate given their bye week. Greg Ellingson looks like the prime option at receiver and Andrew Harris is once again the highest-priced running back on both sites. Let’s get into this CFL Fantasy slate.

C.J. Fajardo

DraftKings = $8,400/$50,000
TSN = $5,747/$40,000

To me, this is the easiest play at quarterback so far this season. It’s surprising that Fajardo is priced way out of the range of Harris and Reilly and even below guys like Chris Streveler. Fajrardo’s Riders are coming off of the bye week to face a cupcake matchup in the B.C. Lions.

The Lions have been a major let down this season and part of the reason for that is their defence. They have allowed at least 350 yards of total offence in four of their first five games. They are also giving up close to 31 points per game to opposing teams. Fajardo shouldn’t have much difficulty throwing or running the ball. It also looks like Fajardo will have a new weapon at his disposal in Emmanuel Arceneaux as he looks to make his debut.

C.J. Gable

DraftKings = $8,500/$50,000
TSN = $8,435/$40,000

The Edmonton Eskimos have looked like world-beaters so far this season and are coming off of their second victory against the B.C. Lions. In Week 6 they face off against a team that is gaining some momentum in the Montreal Alouettes. I don’t see any scenario where Gable’s workload changes this week. He is averaging just below 20 carries per game and has had at least three receptions in each of the Eskimos’ four games this season. It’s worth mentioning that Gable ripped up the Als in Week 1. I wouldn’t be surprised if a similar performance is looming.

Ka’Deem Carey

DraftKings = $5,800/$50,000
TSN = $4,500/$40,000

I expect Carey to fly pretty under the radar this week after a lackluster performance against Hamilton. Carey and Terry Williams shared the work for the Stampeders last week which was a bit surprising. I fully expected Carey to assume the bulk of the carries after averaging 4.8 yards per carry in his first start. He did save some face with a rushing touchdown but still fell short of double-digit CFL Fantasy points. Carey shapes up as a great, cheap tournament play this week. If he sees double-digit carries in addition to his red-zone role against this Argos team, he could be in for a solid day.

Davaris Daniels

DraftKings = $6,400/$50,000
TSN = $7,902/$40,000

Daniels made his debut for the Eskimos last week and saw seven targets. He also was able to find the end zone making for a respectable CFL Fantasy day. His is super cheap on DraftKings but is already the fourth most expensive receiver on TSN somehow. This recommendation gives me a little pause just because of the number of mouths to feed on the Eskimos offence, but it seems like they made it a point to get him involved. Daniels should be able to build on a solid outing against Montreal.

Bryan Burnham Breakout?

It really does seem like all hope is lost for the Lions after last week’s 33-6 loss at the hands of the Eskimos. With that said, Bryan Burnham is averaging just over eight targets and will garner close to zero attention this week as people flock to Greg Ellingson or Eric Rogers. I expect the Lions to be playing from behind and needing to rely on the pass which should lead to a lot of volume for Burnham. It is also worth noting that Burnham leads the league in Air Yards despite only playing four games with 434. (

Calgary Stampeders

DraftKings = $5,000/$50,000
TSN = $5,289/$40,000

I fully expect the Stampeders to be the chalk this week as they face up against one of the weaker teams in the league in the Toronto Argonauts. The defensive touchdown production is probably unsustainable, but I still like their prospects against this Argonauts team. I also don’t mind the Roughriders at home against the Lions.
